Whats your office policy or vibe with being sick in office? I’m so used to you just stay home and work remote or at least wearing a mask but new place has people coming in and fully coughing.

Our manager likes to talk about a game about taking care of yourself and not coming in when you're sick. But when someone does call out, they are met with suspicion and gossip. It's like a total double standard.

Fortunately we don’t have sick days - if you’re sick, you’re sick. We don’t need to use PTO. We just work from home or take the day off. There’s no reason for people to be going into work and hacking up a lung around everyone

Your office policy would be the PROFESSIONAL STANDARD (and the world, if I’m honest). Now that I reflect on that, this issue is only pronounced here in the US … is there EVEN ONE THING we do well anymore? I’ll take AVERAGE or below average in ANY CATEGORY at this point!! Geez….not an ounce of civility here anymore. Embarrassing

They always tell us to stay home and take a sick day, but then get mad when we take a sick day. People come in all the time sick because they make us feel bad when we take a day off. Can't say that I blame them.

Yes, but we are ALL adults; and if you’re going to work SICK, you’re a direct threat to everyone else’s health. Read that again—YOU ARE A PHYSICAL THREAT to everyone in your office.

It’s a mix in my office
I personally just stay home whenever I feel even the slightest bug and just WfH

Is it wrong that I’m just not into PE/VC? It seems to be the most desirable exit for most people that I work with. The work seems like it’s not a good fit for me but it feels crazy to pass up trying to get that amount of money when there really isn’t a realistic alternative to that amount of wealth (and I do want that amount of wealth).

Does anyone have the 2020 SHRM books for sale or to borrow? My job won’t contribute towards my certification. I’ve already paid for my test. I have the books from 2015 but I’d like to study from the 2020. I tried finding them online to purchase but sellers of affordable books aren’t responding.

Can you sell your used shrm cp books from the learning system? If so where?

hello! I’m looking to get some insight to see if I’m being paid fairly for where I’m at in my career. I’ve worked at the same company for 2.5 years. This is my first job out of college. Started as an HR Admin, basically in a call center for all HR related inquiries and now am a Sr Admin assisting with escalations, interviewing, training new hires, supporting my team, scheduling, keeping track of stats- phone calls, tickets resolved, etc. I’m making $52k per year and work remote out of MA.
