When agency leaders talk to the press and run internal diversity programs, do they even realize they’re the ones that have driven every decision that led us to this point?

When they lead these all agency zoom calls, do they even take a look at the folks in the grid looking back at them? It’s clear they have not walked the walk in their hiring practices.

I think it’s time the people in the lower echelons drive the change. We have to push harder. We have to hold our agencies accountable.

If I start a full-time position as a Product Engineer, what salary should I expect within the Metro-Detroit Area?

I am in a tech IC position. One of friends switched to FAANG by converting the profile to consultant profile. The friend who might have less tech knowledge than me is now in FAANG and earning more. If the end goal would be that the friend might one day be a product manager and me an engineering manager taking instructions from the same friend, isn't consultant profile an easier path to growth. I had been practising DSA for years and the competition is only ever growing.

My old employer asked me if I wanted to come back to the company as a manager. The pay will likely be much better and the position holds more responsibility than I’ve had before, so overall it would be a step up. The issue is I left the company because of an abusive manager who constantly put me down and made me feel like I wasn’t doing anything right. If I come back I’d be working under her again. Can someone explain how billable hours work? At a new agency and although I had to fill timesheets at my previous agencies, they were mainly used to ensure we weren’t over servicing a client/for setting the appropriate retainer for contract renewals.
