If you want to find some new wines one of our clients is a new online wine marketplace (Scoperta = discovery in Italian) and you can get flat shipping with first purchase in the flight club . Fun service if you want to try it . (We also produced a hilarious opera video on YouTube if you want a laugh) https://www.scopertawine.com/

You are spoiled for options in New York. If you are hunting for a specific wine, use wine searcher. Otherwise, find a shop you like and get to know the people there, they have no reason to steer you wrong.
Tribeca wine merchants
Union Square wines
Astor place wines
Garnet wine and liquor
Chambers Street wines
NY wine warehouse
Sherry Lehman

Idk if you guys heard, but someone at EY is looking to do a wine club get together in NYC 👀
Empire State of Wine is a great place. Have sourced a good amount of different champagnes from them — great service.
It’s an independent shop that also does their own direct import. Owner is super knowledgeable and super French. His brother has a great restaurant in Boston also.
Great prices for French wine overall
The honest answer would be an internet source from whichever one has the best overall pricing. If you need to go local I like Acker Wines.
That’s just misplaced fear. I’ve gotten bad wine more in store (ie: Union Square Wines, TriBeCa Wine Merchants, etc) than on the internet and have bought everything from $20 house wines to bottles of Domaine Conti, Petrus, Screaming Eagle, etc from online sources. Obviously, you do your due diligence on the shop but a lot of times I’ve found I’m looking for specific bottle and vintages that many store in NYC don’t carry and if they do it’s more expensive. Besides if the shop doesn’t cover me issues, Amex generally makes things right.
I like Wine Therapy. Not great on affordability but they have a really good natural wine selection and the staff gives great recommendations
I like Rare Wine ltd on 13th and Greenwich ave. Small but great
