Southwest dominates if you are flying from a hub and are on personal business (paying for your own flight). Sure, you don’t have assigned seats, but they get me from point A to be point B on a non-stop flight for less money than all other carriers. I’m 6’3” and I really don’t care about legroom and what not on a domestic flight so it’s perfect for my needs.
Honestly I think JetBlue is my preferred airline when available, though I find myself on United a lot due to the number of airports it stops at
Alaska is the best. Southwest is pretty good for personal travel. United is alright as last long as you don’t mind getting dragged off the plane. 😜
KPMG2 - Cheers! I’d rather save extra bucks for a nice restaurant at my destination than paying extra for leg room.
Always felt Delta was the best... Worst probably Southwest or Virgin but honestly I don't really care because all domestic airlines suck compared to Asian and Middle Eastern airlines. Singapore Airlines economy class was a real nice flight.
Delta = Best, Southwest = Worst
Alaska best but can be pricey. JetBlue is pretty great too. United by far the worst.
My best domestic flight experience was with southwest worst was with United Airlines. Say what you will about southwest, they treat their passengers well! And echoing my fellow KPMGer, they are dirt cheap, love it!!
Deloitte 1 agreed!! I wish southwest flew to more locations, when they added Belize I was excited. Have you heard about their companion pass credit card, best thing ever - your companion only pays taxes! Southwest for the win 😊
Yup! Companion pass is the reason why everyone should fly Southwest even for business.
Just rack those miles up and then fly your significant other for freeee.
Alaska best. Untied and American may be tired...never gotten into southwest cattle call
Delta is the best. AmEx Platinum + Delta = all the free booze.
I've never been on an AA flight that wasn't delayed by at least 45 min
Did 103k miles last year, almost all on American. If you fly out of an AA hub or “focus city” and have Platinum Pro or above it’s hard to beat it, although upgrades have been harder to come by in 2018 as they’re dropping the first class fares so people are actually paying for them. After a year of 100% travel and mileage multipliers I was able to get 4 round trip business class tickets to Europe for free on AA. If you’re going to be traveling a lot and want to take personal trips outside the US then Oneworld is hard to beat as far as convenience goes.
Looking to try Alaska/Virgin as they just matched my AA status. Basically anybody who will match my AA status will get a 1 flight trial from me.
Wouldn’t be caught dead on a Southwest flight and I live in a hub city.
EY 4, Lufthansa switched you because in Europe if you are delayed over 4 hours on a flight from an EU airport to a non EU airport (3,500 km distance), the airline is OBLIGATED to pay you €600 for non weather related reasons of delay of course. So if that’s the case here, they took you for a ride. Besides, leg room on Lufthansa is terrible. In Europe,as ironic as it sounds - Aeroflot is one of the best! In the US, might as well take FedEx and fly among packages...at least no one sneezes on you and you don’t hear spoiled kids screaming on top of their lungs 😏. All of them here - cattle haulers.
I was stuck on an Alaskan flight for nearly one hour prior to take off today, and then another 35min or so after we landed waiting for a turn at a gate to unload us.
American worst by a long shot. United and Delta aren’t bad. Jet Blue best!
As the other airlines start improving their entertainment set ups jet blue is getting less and less compelling. A lot of their metal is looking pretty tired at this point, not to mention they are consistently at the back of the pack for being on time. I do ~75k miles a year - all the major delays or cancellations I’ve had were on JB
Jet Blue out of Boston has a lot of the new planes with Mint for longer flights. Can’t be beat. United makes you sit back and reflect on whether you’re a human or cattle, also heaven forbid you don’t take the free pretzels, they will just throw them at you like a baseball game.
For domestic flights, Jet Blue is by far the best. Most leg room and tvs. Also I had a two hour delay once, they compensated everyone with a $75 voucher without me even asking. I’ve had flights cancelled by American and United and received nothing.
Lufthansa though has been my best experience. I was flying back from Germany and our flight was delayed by almost 4 hours. We spoke with someone at the desk and they switched me to an earlier flight than the original and a closer to home airport for free. A four delay turned into getting home two hours earlier than planned
