I've had a hybrid role for the past 4 years where I get unlimited sick days (well 14 really until fmla kicked in), 3 weeks of vacation, 3 personal days. I am also given the week after Xmas off. if my toddlers are sick I can work at home with them. Interviewing w fortune 500 that offers 15 pto days that have to use for sick days too.Strictly in office job 9-5 and dress bus.prof. These bad benefits? Outdated culture?I am a seasoned professional. Seems tough.

Bain & Company Hi all, would anyone here be willing to help with a referral to McKinsey, Bain, or BCG?
I’ve been with Accenture Strategy now for a year and am looking to transition firms. Would prefer Texas offices if possible, but am open to all locations!
Happy to chat about my reasons for moving or prior work experience over DM/phone if it would be helpful.

PwC has unlimited sick days and honestly so many holidays and vacation hours that it feels unlimited and you get it paid out… best to of both worlds!
Interesting @Deloitte. Permanent change or temporary due to COVID and current demand? And how was it implemented? 3 weeks added to the numerator (vacation + charge hours)? Or removed from denominator (avail hours - PTO)?
We suspended util requirements when COVID first hit and util was plummeting, but that was temporary. Surprised to hear the calc would change even on a temp basis
Haha. Giving "unlimited" PTO to people who are measured by billable hours is like giving unlimited iced coffee to the people manning the Antarctic climate station. What does it matter if you cannot take it?

Love the analogy!

Saves each firm millions on paying out vacation when you leave…. You thought this was for you?!?! 😂

This is the real reason unlimited PTO is a thing. PW nailed it.
Pwc basically does. There’s 176 hours of PTO and unlimited sick days

Does it matter in consulting especially if you are allowed to go up to negative 80hours in your PTO bank?

Who needs unlimited PTO? I never use the 6 weeks I get now.
West Monroe does! And we are encouraged to use it
EY has unlimited PTO? How do sick days work?
DXC Technology also had unlimited PTO
Can’t you just use pto for when sick?
Not us. Maxes out at five weeks unless you're grandfathered into another arrangement.

Unlimited PTO!!! But it impacts your utilization… it sounds great but it’s actually about the same as dedicated PTO
Unlimited* pto
Ours maxes at 4-5 weeks depending on level/tenure, with the ability to carry up to half of that over to the next year if unused
Definitely not Accenture
Deloitte starts you with 5 weeks and it goes up after M to 6 weeks. Rollover up to 5 weeks at year end
Rising Star
I roll over my full 6 weeks.
With unlimited PTO couldn’t one (if they were so inclined) take PTO forever and not work. I mean technically the policy says “unlimited”…
Deloitte has pretty decent balance. Specially now a days.
Rising Star
I’d say even longer than now a days. It was 25-30 days when I joined in 2008.
Never want unlimited. PO’d if we did that - majorly.
Lol I would almost not accept a job offer based solely on the fact they are “unlimited PTO”
