Which is better a “senior consultant” at EY or “Project Manager” at a local large organization?
I’m currently a business analyst and recently k was offered a promotion to Project Manager.
Meanwhile, I got another offer from EY as a Senior Consultant
My current company are willing to match EY offer and they want me to stay.
Part of me wants to join EY as it’s a big name on the resume and I can learn a lot from it BUT another part of me wants the PM and comfort zone in my current job.
Thanks

My personal opinion is that a) senior consultant sounds better and b) EY is always a good name to have on your CV. I think WLB is definitely an issue...but I would argue that it's a temporary thing. You can stay for a year or two, grind it out, make some money and go back to a comfier org with a higher salary potentially. No role is forever IMO so take the better opportunity and you can turn it into something better later

In my experience, pushing yourself outside of your comfort zone is always the better option. Especially if it's with EY.

like

Hmmm, what is you desired career trajectory? Those are kind of two different fields? Personally, I'm not a fan of EY's culture but that's just because I highly value my WLB

like

That's a tough one. Really depends on your values - WLB, culture.

Hi Everyone,
I need your views and suggestions. I have two doubts:
1. Is it fair to leave an organisation (big brand) after a year as the environment is real toxic and there’s no career growth as well in terms of good work.
2. If I have to make a switch do I really have to target big brands only or can try for medium and small size companies too.

See a lot of people slamming their “big firm” experience and wanting to move on from it. I’ve got 2YOE but not at a big firm and can’t help feeing I’m missing out on something (name brand, skills, network etc). Is it better not to chase it and go somewhere else (tech / startups etc) rather than trying to get in at entry level ?

Has anyone found a way to automate salary certifications?

We get about 3-5 requests daily to fill out salary certifications for our employees in EMEA.

At the moment, we have to do all of them manually. We open a pdf, then open their employee file and plug away. It's tedious and time-consuming, but the banks I found won't accept an internal salary certification for some reason. They're adamant about using their form. Has anyone come across this?
