So I just recently passed my CPA exams and I’m now looking for new opportunities. I’m hoping to work at a big 4 firm in tax and possibly connect with anyone working there right now. Please reach out to me, I would look forward to connecting and learning more about potential opportunities. Thanks!EY PwC Deloitte KPMG

Thought this was interesting. Across 160 teams of researchers, just about all failed to make good life outcome predictions on things like GPA, evictions, layoffs, and others. Data followed 4.5k families across 15 years, with 13k features (varied over time). Haven't looked at it directly yet, but will be turning the docs and data inside out... In the meantime, authors claim this as showing the limits of ML. Oh, and it's published in PNAS, so you know there's some big publication energy there.

Neither is really better based on this info alone. However, i’d go with the first.
Business intelligence will make you be the “dashboard person”. You don’t want to be that person lol. Avoid powerbi and tableau at all costs unless you enjoy building dashboards
I largely agree with this. some builds:
Tableau >> BI
Sounds like the first position has some elements of data science ? that’ll always be hotter and more in depend than BI
I think it really comes down to what matters most to you and what interests you most. Both expertise in data science and in data visualisation can lead to successful and stimulating careers. On average , I’d argue data science is better suited for someone with an interest in statistics/maths, longer projects and low level thinking. Data visualisation on the other hand maybe better suited for a strategic thinker , who likes to think about the big picture and likes leveraging data to answer key business questions. That said, there is bound to be overlap across the two professions and going down one route doesn’t mean saying good bye to the other.
I think it depends - although I agree that when you see “Tableau” or “PowerBI” there’s a higher likelihood you’ll be the dashboard person , it’s not always the case . I’m a Business Data Analyst and although my title doesn’t state it out right, I am the “dashboard person”. But, that also means I’m the key decision maker when it comes to data architecture/requirements gathering, and I’m point person for IT and Finance to talk to each other at my company . Additionally, I spin up analyses and get experience with deriving actionable insight. I’d reach out to both companies to get an idea of responsibilities before making a hard and fast decision based on title alone . Hope everything works out for you !
