Intl Tax folks, how long did it take before you were confident in your role? I've worked for the past 3 years in a practice that is heavily consulting based (inbound and outbound structuring) and I feel like I'm only just starting to understand the foundational concepts (where I can explain them clearly to clients) and offering a shred of value. I’m currently working for a small technical consulting start-up firm. I make good money, have great benefits, and they seem very happy with the work I’m doing, so I know I could move up quickly. However, tech consulting is definitely not my dream job. I want to get into data analytics, and I have an offer from a big company to do just that. I’ve only been at my current company for about 8 months, but I don’t ever see myself loving this job. How do I know when it’s time to make a change?

Thoughts on Wealth Management as an industry? Offered a role to work under a senior FA and eventually take over the book (~$800M AUM and growing). It sounds great, but I am worried about the disruption this industry is facing with Robo advisors and other low cost, DIY options. I’d want to make sure the clients stay through the transition, and I don’t want to join a dying industry. Thoughts and advice?
