Anecdotally, I’ve found the bin system to be faster around 20% when there are long lines, at least in the TSA line at EWR. I think this its partly because they will let you push your bin in and start to walk through the scanner even before your bag is scanned vs. the other one they make you wait
Actually it’s the same at EWR! The person will pull you bin but it still may be in a queue ahead of the machine whereas you can go ahead and walk through the scanner
