Why can’t I break into consulting.. Is it the market or my resume/interviewing skills. Getting rejected from roles I feel I am qualified for and not seeing many opportunities. Currently have ~1.5 YOE at a a B4 but not in consulting.

You can get into FAANG but remember you will become good for nothing. As when u try to switch you will have bug fixes in your resume no productivity. Beware...

I got hired as a BA, at an advisory firm. Im new to the industry and new to the role. I see that every BA is different in different companies. Right now I’m building out SOP’S for our different departments, as well working with clients guiding them through our pipeline. Man the world seemed like it was going to shit at this time two years ago, but how innocent and care free does spring of 2020 feel now? I think we were still in “14 days to flatten the curve” at this point. Most of us hadn’t touched our summer plans yet.

I feel burnt out by how ruthless the tech industry in US is, but I also know I’m making much more money than people outside of tech or consulting.

I have an informational interview with a Managing Director on Friday about a manager role. I currently serve in a client services role and do not have traditional consulting experience (billable hours, etc.). Additionally, while I’ve worked with McKinsey, Accenture, McKesson, and other teams on major projects, I don’t have experience putting together the strategy, more of a support function.
