Why can’t I break into consulting.. Is it the market or my resume/interviewing skills. Getting rejected from roles I feel I am qualified for and not seeing many opportunities. Currently have ~1.5 YOE at a a B4 but not in consulting.

Check out Protiviti. We're a mid tier firm and definitely have open consultant roles. Feel free to DM me

You have only 1.5 years of experience. Perhaps don’t focus on the top firms but get your feet wet at a mid tier or boutique agency. Also reach out to the managing directors or partners if they have entry level roles posted for their line of business.

You may also have to practice your interview skills

like

Which practice were you in. Depending on the skills you have, consulting may not be looking for those skillsets. Best way to break in is by making an internal transfer. I’ve done it and broke through

Not sure which company you’re at but at Deloitte you essentially need a partner to vouch for you. You’ll reach out to someone at the group that’s a manager or senior manager and ask them about the role. If you’re interested after talking to them, ask if you can mention them to the partner on their side and see what happens from there. At the end of the day you need to build trust through your network and hopefully you are a high performer so that your partner would vouch for you. And then the partner on the other side would be your sponsor.

The time isn’t as important as the work you did and your skills. Can you provide insight into your role at B4? Not all roles translate into consulting. Did you try networking with MDs at your B4 firm / interview internally?

Essentially a BA with visualization and (some) technical skills e.g., SQL, HTML, etc

are u tax/Audi at b4?

I got hired as a BA, at an advisory firm. Im new to the industry and new to the role. I see that every BA is different in different companies. Right now I’m building out SOP’S for our different departments, as well working with clients guiding them through our pipeline. I get to Analyze data every now and then to help make business decision, but there’s less emphasis on this. What tools or resources should I be utilizing to help myself grow and keep pushing. This company is young and growing.

A nice comfortable office chair.

https://ergochair.co/collections/chairs/products/ergonomics-mesh-chair-w-adjustable-headrest-and-armrest?variant=32511617597491

My criteria: mesh seat and back, arms, headrest

I tried cheap ones from Amazon. Expensive, second hand gaming chairs. Tried HM Aeron (second hand) and while I didn't like the bulk and the general design, I was sold on the mesh seating. I wanted to get the ErgoChair 2 from autonomous, but it doesn't have mesh seat.

AMA.
