For those who does internal strategy or consulting, what is the SOC job code used for h1b or 140? Thank you!
Is the 1 year h1b extension rule applicable to the extension with approved I140 as well or is it just for the ones who doesn't have 140 approved?
I am starting with PwC in the fall 2020 and just recent graduated as well, Jan 2020. Would I be able to enter the H1B lottery this April if I reach out to PwC?
How many times/years can H1b be extended after 6 yr term if I change jobs to another employer with previous employer approved i140 without starting new Perm process ?
Just wanted to pop in to say that my H1b extension RFE cleared a couple of days back, and I am extended to stay and work in the country for another 3 years! :) stay strong if you’re in the same situation and are looking for any positive vibes.
If it ever comes to that, would you give up your Indian citizenship to become a US citizen? Or would you just stop at the Green Card?
Any one in this forum received a cancellation mail for B1/B2 visa appointments for late Jan/Feb 2022. Not sure what to expect, but the appointment is still active on the portal after 3 days receiving the mail. The mail seemed pretty generic but not sure whether the consulate will honor the appointment.
EY I heard on Telegram group that EY send an email to all the employees requesting not to travel international. Stating that US consulate is planning to cancel visa appointment ( especially India ) Can anyone please confirm how true it is ?
For people living in the US - do you invest in property in India - if yes, then how do arrange for loans in India or US? Also if I am on H1B can I get a loan in India?
Is it true that EY Immigration Team does a terrible job of putting together documentation for H1B related stuff? Off late I have seen so many threads around this, and all the people who had contd..
Can we transit through Canada (from US to India) with a valid Canadian visitor visa ? Or do we need to get a transit visa? My layover is 4 hours. Wanted to see if anyone has had a similar situation.
My H1B expires April 2019, when do they typically apply for an extension? 6 months out? Also, once the extension has been applied for, can I travel internationally prior to knowing the result? (Contd)
Got my green card recently. I have always wanted to become a realtor have my own side business. Assuming no issues anymore right if I get my license and do this while still being employed with kpmg?
What documents do we need for H1B stamping?
Has anyone on H1b switched to the new employer on receipt, instead of on approval? My new employer just stated my process. While will be through premium process, I'd still have to wait for around 6 to 8 weeks to start if I am transferring on approval, while only 3 weeks if starting with receipt notice... I am so done with my current job so was wondering if sounds not too dangerous to move before approval?
What's the best consulting firms for H1B folks who have studied masters in STEM here? Got a cousin graduating this fall and he needs to know H1B/GC policies.
Anyone else taking the CFE and can give insight to whether the actual test was the same questions from the review/practice questions? Any study tips? FYI they are also changing their proctoring system in July. Thank you!
Need some advice. I’ve been working with my current employer for 10 months. I have a bachelors in business management and 4.5 years of experience in different functions of HR & have worked for large organizations such as Blue Cross Blue Shield. Someone was hired in my team recently and I found out that this person makes $27K more than me. This new team member has 3-4 years of experience in HR and a BS in Psychology. They are the Sr HR Specialist and I am HR Specialist. Continue in comments
I was laid off from a resource management role, working with employees approaching or on the bench, working with managers to staff projects, and support functions like report creation, scheduling, etc. Roles like this are few and many large consulting firms have frozen internal hiring. Do you think it would be beneficial to get a SHRM cert? Would that help get a "talent related" HR role? Worth the money? I have a background in recruitment as well.
I got an offer from a company and want to speed up the process at another place I’m interviewing- how do I say this to the recruiter? (I’m 3 interviews in, have two partner interviews left)
My 6 mo just switched to a new daycare bc the old place (we started at 4mo) had NO transparency. she was coming out with dirty face, dried up tears, red marks, frequent blow outs etc that the teachers/admins kept brushing off. New place offers 24/7 camera access and provide lots of updates throughout the day. The teachers seem to be doing the best they can. But after the first week I noticed my baby was extremely aggressive, vocal, irritable, &can't nap. Should I be worried about the new place?
Have an offer at EY as a SC2 for 140k base and 5k sign on in their commercial practice. Currently a SC2 (about to be SC3 and begin promo year in January) at Deloitte in GPS making 110k base, but getting a market adjustment next week. The EY job seems "meh" as far as the actual work and currently have great WLB/easy life with good metrics and clear upward mobility. Thoughts on the offer and if I should switch? I'd prefer to leave D to go to some sort of tech company vs another b4 tbh
I’m a mid-level working in a niche area in NYC. I like the work I do, put in long hours, high quality work, take time to mentor juniors, etc. I see myself at a law firm long term but now wondering if this is the right firm to make partner. Among others, one big concern I have is the non-existent emphasis on diversity and inclusion initiatives (they aren’t even pretending to care...), no committees, no statements in support of POC, etc. How do I find firms really committed to these issues?
I am at a v5 firm in NY in debt finance (rising 5th year) who got recruited to a v20 firm. The lifestyle will be significantly better (1900 hours vs 2300/2400). What is appropriate to ask as far as signing bonus, given I am not using a recruiter, my class year, etc.?
Anyone know the new shareholder comp at Polsonelli? Looks like they hire senior associates from other firms to become shareholders?
Estate tax question. Elderly mother is on her way out, should we put me and my sisters name on the house deed? Does this make sense from an estate tax perspective?
When do you know it is time to leave consulting for industry? Feel so burned out that I am unable to get excited about any of my projects and am getting irritated by client indecision and politics.
Negotiating an offer with a federal consulting firm. I have a month of expected leave coming up in the summer - family emergency reasons. How do I mention this and let them know that ill need this time off.
Day two of being on Bench... Seeing others who have been on bench for 12 weeks... Fee pretty relaxed!! #EarnedDowntime
