I am an MD at PwC...and it’s gotten considerably worse for me and my teams over the past few years. Leadership is making changes with little to no actual strategy behind it, which is causing chaos and bad behavior. The bad behavior leads to a pretty toxic environment where everyone is out for themselves in order to meet their metric goals...so you’ll get stabbed in the back on a weekly basis in order for others to succeed. It’s a very dog eat dog world here.

It's hard, and it's a big firm. I was in corporate america for 10 years before joining PwC. I was shocked and got run over several times by people with hidden agendas. My exp is with people in leadership or quasi leadership positions. The HR IFS leader R Spencer - big bully, and lies about people. Many COS are great, and some just behave really bad. Many partners are wonderful, but then there are a handful who are all about themselves. Stay true to yourself and your survive PwC (or leave) (-:
What about leadership
PwC 6 did a great job explaining it. Much better than I could do. The chaos mentioned leads to fear at all levels, which enforces a pecking order and making sure there is always someone to blame. I think the quality has dropped as top performers and knowledge experts have left the company.

Lots of changes. Some will excel in the new environment, some will not. One group is more active here. I'm not sure which group I'm in yet.
Wow. I thought till now it was all because of the leadership!!
If only we get utilization credit for all these internal meetings (firm wide webcast, market team meeting, all hands, etc.,) expecting folks to hit 90% utilization with so many internal meetings is ridiculous, obviously people need to work over time for utilization and also work towards internal firm initiatives to be “impactful”.
