In a lot of states it's more or less traditional, institutions battle to keep wages low. But ultimately it comes down to supply and demand. If they can get people to accept what's offered, that becomes the standard.
Most LE Agencies are still utilizing an outdated way of thinking, thinking it’s a privilege for the officer to work for them, rather than realizing it’s the other way. No one wants to be a cop anymore, most cops don’t want to be cops but are complacent with where they are.
What’s changing the culture is the high recidivism rate officers bounce from agency to agency to the highest bidder, forcing agencies to raise their salaries (especially in Metro Atlanta).
Security salaries in Georgia are generally on the lower side compared to states like California or New York, mainly because the cost of living is lower. However, bigger cities like Atlanta often offer higher pay, especially for roles in corporate security or high-risk environments. To find better-paying positions, focus on getting certifications like CPR, first aid, or specialized training in security systems. That's what I thinks
Georgia has one of the lowest minimum wages, from that it impacts everything else. The federal minimum is at 7.25$ right now, which that in itself is kind of wild to wrap my head around. Cost of living always plays a part too, although that and wages are clearly not aligned anymore.
