I’m in IA. I love boring. It’s predictable and consistent. Easier for me to delegate offshore and do other stuff during the day
Lol because they haven’t found a good IA department. My first IA job was at a global pharma company and I got to travel to 12 countries a year on company’s dimes. It was the best job until today. The IA engagements are also risk based, not repetitive and boring control testing at all. I learned so much about different processes and got developed more skills which paved the way for later roles

How should I say… if audit is an asshole… external audit is like looking at an asshole, bad enough right? How does internal audit sound?
Imagine being an external auditor, good now imagine that but you get to see the same people who don't like you, every single day 😂
Jk obviously
I really thought external even more boring, you just rolling forward work paper from year to year and focus on a financial. In IA, we audit little bit of everything (don’t confuse with SOX). I know in banking can be boring but if you work for a pharma or manufacturing it will never be boring. I work for a company in which IA is recognized as a prestigious department because many of IA alumni are on track to become a Finance director. If they don’t see you that you are in the right path they will kick you out.

Because it's boring and thankless yet lucrative.

If you go to industry you can make solid money.
Boring and easy to get pigeon holes
Or holed. Bit of both I guess
Cuz I actually have a soul
Because they lack investigative skills and cannot write clear report
Anyone who works as an auditor needs good writing skills. It doesn’t matter what type of auditing. If they lack investigative skills they are probably in the wrong profession.
