I've been interviewing with some companies, and now I have to decide between JPMorgan Chase and Globant.
Globant is more innovative, and has remote work. I will enter to work with a Sillicon Valley startup based in San Francisco. The tech stack is React, Nextjs, AWS, and a serverless architecture.
JPM is semi remote, and less innovative. The tech stack Java, SpringBoot and AWS. But I'd do more migration tasks, like dockerize projects and pass them to kubernetes. What would you choose?

I would prefer hourly bc you get OT.
I've had people ask both. It's not weird.
Maybe want you for less than a day’s work?
Hourly is the best. I worked like crazy at one place and the OT nearly doubled my salary.
Just give them both.
@OP where are you? That rate seems extremely LOW. I wouldn’t worry about overasking when literally every creative I know charges more than twice what you’re asking. Then again, I’m in he most expensive market in the country so again, where are you?? Talk to your peers and make sure you’re not lowballing yourself.
OP that's a good rate. I have six years and I ask for 100/hr but settle for $75 or a day rate of 800ish.
Interesting. I’m worried I asked for too much. I said $85/hr. But honestly I’d be fine with working 10 hour days for $700... (a day rate).
NYC (I have three years of experience)
Different places like to pay different ways. If they like to go hourly it's probably because they think the final number will be lower for them. I always request a day rate. You might put in 16 hours or you might put in 2, but it tends to even out.
Yeah I’m also leaving a full time job, so I feel like $85 is a reasonable request.
I’d settle for $75/hr or $700/day.
