Yes I was thinking about 150 hr requirement but I’m looking now and would need 30 hrs upper level accounting courses as well

Delaware

You'll need specific accounting courses in addition to the credit req

like

Masters of accounting should but you could also do extra accounting courses with the MBA

like

I’m in tx and got an mba so I could sit for the exam. I took accounting and finance courses for all my electives. I had to take one maybe two extra classes I think.

like

As a CPA, don’t get an MBA to be a CPA. Go do corp fin or some other finance. CPA route isn’t worth it imo

smart

You don't see CPAs being in higher demand, especially when combined with some unique or special skill or industry experience? Have you seen the rising starting salaries for CPAs?

It depends. Is it just to fulfill the 150 credit hour requirement and you have all the other course reqs done?

Depends on the program and the state.

all you have to do is submit ur current transcript to nasba and then they will tell u what classes u need.

then with ur mba u do a concentration in accounting to satisfy those classess ur missing

Depends on the program and state. MBA win an Accounting emphasis. Maybe.

What about an accounting certificate?

I've become really jaded about consulting. I find all so often you need to tell the client what they want to hear to keep their business and I feel like so much of the what I recommend doesn't actually get implemented. I'm looking to make a career switch so I can both create and execute on my strategies. A product management path seems very promising for this.

Does anyone who switched from consulting to product management have any recommendations of h helpful PM books, courses, or programs?

3. Planning for a PHD ( part time ) not sure, not clear may be a good option as I can move to education line.

Totally disinterested in tax, have 2.5 years experience and masters in accounting. Banking and finance jobs for about 3 years before I got into accounting. I don’t like the stuff that comes along with public, such as time tracking and hours goals. A transfer to audit is low on my priority list (also tough to pull off). Just started actively looking in industry, but fear that if I continue to stay in my current position, I will get pigeonholed into tax only positions in the future. Cont...
