If you have Amex, the Hawaiian -> Alaska transfer should cover some of those desirable AA redemptions. If you’re largely chase and have one in mind, I’d consider it for the points

Thanks. Yeah I know people do this through AS but I don't have any Amex cards. Probably won't until I stop getting Inks since I'm at 4/24. Just feeling like this may be the last chance at the Barclays AA card, but hard to pull the trigger since that'll block me from all Chase cards for a while.
AA points are not "hard to earn". You can earn them either flying or via the AA Elite or Platinum cards. I have both. ($95/yr platinum, $595/yr Elite). Got a 70,000 point signup bonus with the plat and 100,000 signup bonus miles with the elite as well as lounge access and free guest privileges with the Elite. The AA cards let you earn extra points via their hotels and shopping partners as well. I fly AA all the time though and the free upgrades are worth it to me, but if you don't have reason to fly AA a lot, it might not be worth it to you.
Also, the Barclays card is getting canned soon. So idk if it'll actually be useful in the future.
It's only worth it if you regularly have a reason to fly AA. If you don't fly a lot of AA routes, I'd say no.
