I was until I found out I wasn't getting a return. I had a little shock this year finding out that I actually owed more money than I got back. I don't know how it happened. Did the tax brackets change?
Did you get a new job? Maybe your employer took what they required?
Unfortunately, I have a freelancing business on the side which means all of my tax return is eaten up by the high taxes of small businesses. I eventually end up owing every year, which is a bummer. But I do use the revenue from my small business towards my student loans, so it works out.
I put some of it towards my debt but not a whole lot of it. I had a lot of other things I wanted to use it on this year so that is what I did.
