Hey Googlers, I’m going in for my GCP TAM second round on Monday and had a few QQs for you all:
1. For the RRK2 case study if there is a scenario for handling peak time workloads where the client did a lift & shift of a monolithic architecture, is the best suggestion to move them to micro services to enable serverless and auto scaling features?
2. I was told that they’ll give me 15 mins to prep after the case study is shared live, would you suggest I build a 1 pager or is that not required?Google

I certainly don’t think 15% is a given. Are you getting promoted this year?
I’m a S1 for mid year promoted and am at 6 figs. I’m definitely at a higher cost of living area but I sure hope you get to 6 figs
I got a 25% raise in 2021 when I got promoted to manager, and that was after a mid year raise. I think 15% is reasonable.
I got 40% raise when promoted to manager in July. No raise the July before but 5% mid year adjustment in Jan 2021. 15% is reasonable even if they got a monster raise last year - all the firms are still hurting
Line of service is important. If you’re in audit “very LCOL”, I highly doubt 6 figures unfortunately. Tax & advisory will be higher.
Not sure where you’d tier Atlanta, but M1 audit was around 90-95 before the 5% bump.
Of course the milestone bonus in April & your bonus on your last senior salary in September will put you around 140 total comp, then you’d get a raise a few months after the milestone bonus which would put you in 6 figures base salary as an M2.
15% raise seems high
I’m NYM and got 15% this past year, but that was also when all of us kinda thought we were getting extra since year before was nothing

It depends where you already sits as a senior. They might give lower % increase is that will. Still put you in the manager band. If you were on the low side as a senior, might need higher % increase to put you in the manager salary band. Nothing is given and it’s not always based on %

In other news, why?
I’d just like to point out that this thread largely contradicts the other thread on the app lately that is telling a manager in tax that he’s drastically underpaid for hoping to exit public at 120k in private as a new-er manager.
As someone that spent 2 years in public and 3 in private, I received a cumulative 16% increase in public during my time there. I’ve received a cumulative 71% increase during my time in private. I’ve only left 1 employer after public to aid in this trajectory.
Public Accounting Is A Racket. That is all.
