Bain & Company Atlanta people! I’m in the process of applying for MBA programs and wanted to ask what recruiting is like for MBB from Emorys program? Is there a reasonable shot at getting into the Atlanta office from Emory, or are those openings primarily filled by other schools (Duke, UVA, etc.)

Hi all, I just got a job offer at PwC for a senior consultant position. The salary is 30% above my total comp right now, but I’m just worried about the amount of work I will have to put in compared to my amazing work life balance now. Does anyone have any experience moving from industry to consulting? I need some advice on what to do. I’m still early in my career (1.4yoe) so I feel like I shouldn’t care too much about wlb, but at the same time, I don’t want my mental health to suffer either.

The quality of the applicant pool drops off pretty big time after HSW and MIT as many accomplished folks won’t consider a full time MBA outside of those 4. It drops off a lot after the rest of the M7 as well
MIT is arguably the worst m7. Caliber of class + class size drive mba impact (more alumni, more visibility in various industries, stronger reputation if class quality is high).
Majority M7s are 600-900 students. Stanford GSB and Sloan are dramatically smaller at 425-450 students. GSB has such a talented class that it can over come this and still be best of best tier (HSW)
MIT Sloan is a completely different story. No engineer sees an mba from Sloan and thinks you’re suddenly a peer. Many mit grad students don’t even know they have an mba lol also a portion of the class is LGO which are students more along the talent level of embas.
HSW > rest of M7 > T15 > T25 has real drops in caliber and value at each transition.
In terms of rest do M7, Booth is viewed by many as #4 and is great and Kellogg never gets love on those forums but their strong employment reports (particular in consulting) speak for themselves. May be worth it to consider
That assumes that you do your homework and show that you fit with the program(s) you are applying to and that you will contribute to the community.
You can't half-a$$ your application.
