I'm curious what the average salary is for an Associate Agent. I'm licensed & do everything after the sale is made as well as refer new business. I have 14 years in the industry but have been at the current company less than a year, so I know that plays a part as well. Anyone in a like-position by chance?State Farm Allstate Travelers

Ultimately, a CISO needs to be able to understand the business and translate technical risks into business risks. Having an MBA goes a long way in learning about business and networking. You can be the brightest technical CISO, but if you can’t communicate and partner with your peers you’re dead in the water.
Some of the best CISOs I know have become exceptionally good at not only speaking business and IT, but leveraging security to help enable overall business goals (driving revenue).
I would add that if you didn’t major in BIS or MIS in undergrad an MBA is more important as you likely have had zero education regarding business.
Feel like a more business oriented education and network would give it a huge boost. Thoughts?
I think it’s more relevant for a CIO role. I’m in the same boat as you, starting MBA now though
Where are you doing your MBA? Is it the Exec MBA or full time? Genuinely interested because I am just starting to consider the same
Seems like overkill for a CISO unless your trying to attach a name brand to your resume for some reason. I’d say masters, 8+ YOE, CISSP, one or two other managerial level certs would qualify you for a smaller firm CISO role
Yes, certs and degrees can take you to some extent. Rest or most part is the connections. I know someone who is now a cybersecurity director with background only on software testing. Guess how he/she got the job ;)
