Family of 4 but with two in daycare so we’re at $11k just with mortgage and daycare 😂😂
I’d say that’s about right. I’m around $9-10k per month for a family of 3. $4,500 rent + utilities, $1,500 2 car loans + insurance, $500 health insurance, $2,500 all other expenses (groceries, cell phones, restaurants, travel, gas, etc).
It may be easier to break down the numbers for the key spend areas than an overall number.
Groceries and fast food ,for a family of 5 is probably 1,400/month (4 boys!). Mortgage with insurance and taxes is $3700 but that’s because we bought pre Covid and have low rates. No car loan and insurance is $1,400/year for just my car. Work covers my husband’s vehicle.
Children’s activities/bday parties/clothes/xmas/camps averages $1,900/month. We also pay for private school which is not included in that.
There are other expenses like medical, utilities, gas, vacations etc.
All in I’d estimate $13,500/month not including private school.
Family of 3 in Waltham - rent is 1,700, utilities/groceries/eating out/car/toys and clothes/gas/etc is usually about 3k/month, daycare is 3k/month, so 7-8k/month
I was gonna say. Good steal!
That’s really awesome I’d say. We’re a family of two and spend more $20-$25k a month.
I am myself and a dog, and I spend $5-6k a month
