I'd love it! I absolutely LOVE trials and wish that's all I did.
Ya I would be upset regardless of whether or not O enjoyed trials. They should’ve given you a heads up. Most firms usually do. So red flag maybe. Good luck!
Wow that's not a lot of time, but this is what you signed up for. I wish they did mention it in your interview that way you could be prepared, but law moves slowly and quickly at the same time. Trial prep is intense, but I love it. I think it's fair to tell them you wish you were given a heads up. But this trial is an opportunity to show your value.
I wasn’t told until I was hired that we were going to trial in 2 weeks. I just went with the flow of getting ready and then a criminal trial took our trial date and we didn’t go, I looked at this way, they hired me to do my job as a litigation paralegal and since I got ready and were bumped then I relaxed bc I knew I was ready when we got our new trial date.
Started on a Monday, I was pulled from my onboarding on Thursday and started prepping for a trial that was in 4 weeks in federal court. Not upset at all. That is my job, that is what I do. To be honest, way better than spending the first 2 months doing mundane tasks trying to prove yourself.
I don't think I would be upset. Obviously it is not ideal but that is probably part of the reason they were trying to get someone hired so quickly. This is a good chance to show them what you are made of.
Seems like a quick way to meet your billables early? Hopefully it’s not being handed to you with no prep work done at least
I wouldn’t mind it. I love engaging in trials.

I don't know. I've always been told to jump in with both feet. But, I do remember my very first discovery project in 2015, it scared the ebee jeebees out of me.
