I wish I wasn’t adaptable. Humans aspire for a greater level of comfort and once achieved, adopt that as their new baseline. Because of this, somebody making $100k cannot simply comfortably revert back to a $50k lifestyle. The slow growth of personal wealth isn’t noticed as ideated. Instead, we are never satisfied.

I was approached on LinkedIn for an early career recruiting role in DFW, TX. I don't have direct experience, but I have the university experience/connections from working in career services. I’m interviewing for a GC role at a company that’s never had in-house counsel before. I’ve never been a GC - what questions should I be asking?

I’ve been practicing in both big law (many yrs ago) and now in-house for over 10 years. Quite often I struggle because I don’t find work fulfilling. I’ve been in industries that allegedly have greater cause (healthcare) but was eventually disappointed by the corporate bureaucracy and went to a cutting-edge tech company for intellectual stimulation. Still I struggle. Should I try public interest? Not that I don’t need the money but it’s hard to work when I am so detached and find it meaningless

One of my junior associates recently resigned and I've been trying to make an exit myself for several months now. The job market has been really competitive but I am getting closer to getting a new job and moving on. The firm culture isn't great and work-life balance is non existent.
