If I was convinced that I had made a mistake in leaving or that I really was happier in that role, then yeah sure why not. I think it'd be hard to take a lower title or lower pay, but if they were willing to hire me and I thought I could advance within the company then I would.
Completely depends on your personal situation. Don't let your ego get in the way of making a decision that would ultimately be a better situation for you.
I've taken a promotion (to a different role) at the same company and realized it just wasn't what I wanted for my career and went back to my previous position. I dont regret it for a second. You just need to make the decision that is right for you.
I would go back to the prior role I had at my prior company. I really only left because I was moving and had to. I don't think I would be embarrassed to go to more of a junior role if I had a reason for doing so.
Thank you. It has been a learning moment for me. I wanted and felt ready for the promotion, and while I've done well in the new role (was offered equity in the company), I've realized it's just not where I want to be. It's not the right place for me. If I tried to go back to the old company, I would essentially need to go back at the level I was before I left. I guess in my mind I've felt a little like I've failed somehow if I couldn't go back to the old company at a level higher than when I left.
Titles are arbitrary so I wouldn‘t think too much about that. If you enjoyed it more I think it‘s still the right move
I've tried and have never gotten hired back. For the better, I suppose.
You left for a reason. Why would you entertain going back? Why wouldn’t you want o find another position if the current one is not working out?
