Fishes, OK so this is true. Wipro is delaying the joining by half a month due to some restrictions or organisational changes & not ready to compensate for that half a month loss of salary. Very rude & absurd behaviour from them. Hence rejecting the offer as such company if u aren't sure when to ask for joining u may revoke the offer letter later on. Hence multiple options in hand is necessary nowadays. Infosys Tata Consultancy HCL Technologies
Hi there, I’ve been told that Deloitte (London, UK) is going to make me an offer but haven’t heard back and it’s been over two weeks. The recruiter mentioned it would be around the “m2 grade”. Any idea what this pay range is? … I have 3 YOE working in NHS finance and have applied for a position in Risk Advisory, public sector. Curious what life at Deloitte is like? Does a work life balance exist?

This is an easy choice. More money in a growth industry with a stake in the future, versus less money, in a shrinking industry stuck in the past.
Depends on agency/client and which tech company. Always consider you book. It’s your most valuable asset.
I took a demotion and doubled my salary. Unless you eat titles for dinner, it’s an easy choice.
Yup. Worked at a bunch of decent agencies, did some good work and had lots of options, but was just burnt out from working 24/7 and the cool-aid culture.
I praise baby jesus every fricking day for getting me out of agencies. I haven’t worked a weekend in over 2 years, I’ve saved up more money than I ever thought I’d be able to, and I’m working with genuinely talented and nice people. I’m just trying to enjoy it while it lasts, as I’m an eternal pessimist who keeps on thinking «something this good can not last forever».
Wait wait wait, hang on hang on hang on.....
NOBODY’S gonna tell me what a faang rsu is? Even in contextual clues?
Acd1: Amazon started as an E-commerce company, the others started as a tech companies. Yes they have a lot of tech, but amongst engineers, they’re still looked at as an e-commerce company, because that is their core business.
They also have a horrible reputation as an employer. Google it!
You ALL are absolutely right, seems easy but I’ve been in the business for 12 years at agencies, 5 yrs as ACD. Of course I would like to be a Creative Director in my career, so even though the in-house role is great in total comp, I believe it’s going to take a very long time to grow into a CD position coming in as an Art Director (because no one leaves in-house). One concern I have is, if I have a bad in-house experience, am I screwing myself by taking a few steps back? My understanding of these big tech companies is, they give you RSUs and got you in these “golden handcuffs” for at least 4 years. I’m a referral from an old writing partner, and he tells me, everything moves slow (conception, production, promotion) but it’s stable and you get work life balance. I know agency work is demanding, but I’ve always loved it. I guess I’m questioning due to my inexperience for in-house culture.
@CD3, If the CD role comes up in total comp, I’m leaning towards that. But the AD role is around $30k more, so?
Love to get more insight from you Creative Directors?!
Remember that at a FAANG company you get free breakfast lunch and dinner, free commute to work, free phoneplan, free benefits usually, and some even subsidize rent if you live close to campus. This could all add up to $10-20k extra a year before taxes.
Can’t wait to namedrop “FAANG” at Thanksgiving with the family.
I think the question is would you go agency side or in-house at FAANG. Which way you leaning?
Never underestimate the power of RSU’s. There are probably a bunch of in-house creatives from Fitbit shopping for McLarens this weekend.
