Waste of time, google it
I found it moderately helpful but more importantly gave my wife some reassurance.
I looked like an idiot as I went to every class in a suit - Wednesday evening classes meant I went straight from the airport.
Go to the class by all means, but above all, make sure you get help with breast feeding sooner rather than later - we found that out the hard way, when a follow-up wellness visit found baby not gaining weight properly. We were so tired we didn't even fully notice. And for goodness's sake, there's nothing wrong with formula supplementation... Yes, breast is best, but sometimes it takes a while, or it just doesn't work as well as you hope.
Also, don't hesitate to engage a lactation consultant. When we did because breastfeeding wasn't working, she pointed out that our baby had a severe tongue tie. Got that fixed and it was night and day. Suddenly breastfeeding worked!
We had one super pushy nurse in the special care nursery where we were sent for monitoring, but asked the charge nurse to give us someone else. That made a big difference and helped my wife's confidence, too. Remember - just like your clients can request a personnel change, so can you.
I liked it especially when you do it in the hospital where you deliver as they can give you very specific information about the delivery there
Yes. I learned a ton. We were poor ass grad students at the time so we went to the class that the city put on, only married couple in there. Was pretty basic because the education level in the room was really low, but still gave us some good info like getting TDAP vaccinations redone for family and whatnot.
We just had our first and found them helpful. Some stuff is a bit repetitive if you go to a bunch of them, but for me it was a fun part of the journey, good way to show support, and learn a few things
YES
No. In our experience, we found that the delivery is going to happen how it happens- you can't cover all scenarios in a childbirth class. Additionally, the medical staff during delivery walks you through everything, from delivery to breast feeding and diapers. At the same time, these classes don't cost much and are short. Definitely take a hospital tour. Congratulations!
I watched some YouTube videos and read some articles. Depends on your level of comfort and more specifically your partner’s...
If you can get away with not doing it, don’t but if it makes your partner less nervous, you should you probably suck it up and do it
Here are 1,200 studies to help you as to whether vaccinate or not.

I would recommend taking the classes. But understand that you’ll be getting just one perspective.
There are resources/classes out there that could educated you far better such as https://www.bradleybirth.com
Shortly before we had our first child was when I also waded into the vaccine debate to do my own research. Let’s just say my mind was blown!
💯! We did one through Lamaze, and it was super evidence based (not all about breathing). It was extremely helpful in understanding your options and also late pregnancy/early labor tips (eg, use a rolling pin on hips to ease muscle pain).
We used a birth center for the actual delivery, but the class would have been potentially even more useful if we'd been at a hospital or if there had been complications. Knowing what and why about interventions really takes fear out of it and makes it feel more like a process and less like something that is out of your control.
Learning is better than not learning.
