I was in the final stages of an interview with Microsoft two weeks ago, in partner marketing. Then the recruiter told me they were putting the hiring process on hold to assess the need for the role. Well, then we heard about Microsoft layoffs last week. Seems like most were in Xbox and Project Alpha but there’s not a lot of information out there. Should I hold out any hope that I’m going to get this job? Any insights on how much these layoffs have impacted the marketing org and/or new hiring?
Hi fishes,
Any guess how many people are laid off from Publicis sapient in past few days? Really scared for my future as I'm also under probation period and deeply regret for my choice of joining this firm...I don't understand why were they recruiting peeps when they were short of projects. Publicis Sapient

God this app is addictive. The DRAMA! The ANGER! The CONSULTING!
I've been laid off and have no problem being non-anonymous in reaching out to her. Guys, being too scared to speak up is what causes this perpetual culture of fear. The firm thinks they can sweep this under the bus and fully intends to, I don't want that to happen. People deserve to know.
Great point P6. I wonder how many interns will be taking their offers at the end of the summer that wouldn't be if they knew the 20+% cuts to the consultants in their future position
@p6 I said partners, plural, and I'm going to bite my tongue like @p10... I do wish you all the best. I do think it's a more than awful thing to be laid off after less than a year into the workforce and can't begin to imagine how you're feeling right now, but the last thing I will say is that I do think as you gain more years of experience you'll have a better understanding (beyond PwC) of what happened. I'm not saying you won't hate this firm forever- again I can't begin to imagine the position you're in... but I think you'll see there are more complexities than what may meet the eye right now
Lauren... Is that you? ^^. Ok in all seriousness that is scary.
Everybody upvote this post to get it to the top. That is the only thing that could be keeping it from stickin.. Unless they are sensoring
It was #2 until about a couple hours ago... I think they're censoring unfortunately
I just sent her a screenshot and quick text from a burner. I'll report back on if she replies
Take notes guys: answering the guys question without being a dick about it
Wow c3 you went way back, I was expecting this to say the article was published 😂
Interesting. This could be some headline.
Really. What's there to report on
PwC5: are you dumb or just acting dumb? Make a damn fake account and access anything you want. You idiot.
Well PwC 7 they are still semi-at fault for the layoffs themselves. Some of the growth goals in certain groups were absolutely unattainable yet leadership still hired aggressively per those goals. The lower attrition rate can be due to way more people being hired the past couple of years, which means the rate would be lower not because less people are leaving but because there was a significant increase in the number of people hired
@P6 I got 2 weeks. But yeah its more the principle of it. Liked where I was and they promised something that was clearly unattainable. When you layoff this many people there is a business failure. It's nothing minor
Agree w D2 ...
It's a combination of the two, PwC6... It's a combination of many variables.
And I don't mean to be rude because I feel awfully sorry that you were an undergrad with less than one year of experience who was let go-- the first case I've actually heard of this. I only hope people take the time to talk to a few partners about what's going on - it gives much more insight rather than the intense blame game. Communication can go both ways, you can proactively reach out to partners (that's not aimed at you p6, just a general comment). I'm sorry you're in the situation you are.. That's rough.
For PwC, I'm not even sure less people left than usual. Attrition rates (like all rates) are a ratio of TWO components. While people leaving the firm is one component, people hired is another. Of course the attrition rate is going to tank when you hire aggressively the way PwC did. 650 new hires starting on the same day when projects were lacking to begin with? That's stupidity.
Omg.. What?? ^^
