Hi there! Interviewing w/Amazon for a non-tech role (Associate Category Manager aka Associate Buyer) and was asked what my salary requirements are for base+bonus+equity. Can anyone share insight on what Amazonians make in this role. I have 4 YOE and glassdoor is not very helpful.

Any guidance or fist hand experience sharing is highly appreciated.

Pro interview tip: focus on the positives avoid negatives

I would highlight ability to learn quickly using examples without saying “hey I don’t know your industry but I learn quickly”. More, I worked on xyz for 6mos and became the SME and let them connect the dots.
Fake it til you make it. You got this, lead with your strengths you are qualified if you got through the door.

They are interviewing you for a reason. Just showcase what you’re great at. Mostly everything can be learned while on the job
Don’t point to negatives and show how you’re able and eager to learn. Try to show how your previous experiences correlate to the new position or examples of skills previously learned can set you apart or provide different insights than their traditional candidate.
The moment I started treating interviews as me trying to see if the firm was worth working for rather than trying to get them to like me, I started getting lots more offers for higher titles and pay. Obviously difficult if you’re laid off from COVID or otherwise, but if you’ve got a job already, you’re deciding whether the candidate FIRM is good enough for you to make the switch. Changing to that perspective will make you ace every interview and then you can pick what you want.
