Titles mean little to nothing in consulting. Every firm is different. Our "Consultants" are doing the job of late "Managers" at our competitors.
I've seen a lot of cases where "title cut" comes with big pay jump and opportunities for advancement when joining ZS as an experienced hire.
You could be eligible for earlier promo if your experience is directly applicable and you perform great per expectations for the Associate role.
One possible suggestion to consider - wait out your promo until the 2/2.5yr mark at your current job, then make the jump to AC level. You'll avoid a potential reset on the clock (in case you don't meet the performance standards of mid to late Associate).
After 11 years here, starting as an A, I'd say yes. If you already know you like consulting, this is a great place to build a longer term career in it.
If you are looking for short term leverage, like MBA in the next year or two, don't take the cut.
Yeah AC at ZS is a great time to jump for MBA if that’s your goal
There is no fast track - it all depends on your performance. If you are really good you might make it in 1.5-2 years but lo faster than that
