37/F/ATL - is this thing still on?? Lol

I just got a job at Big 4 & am located in Atlanta. Moving to Charlotte has been in the back of my mind for a while now. I am single 26 year old female (completely single ATL’s dating scene sucks here). Are y’all happy in Charlotte? Has anyone moved from Atlanta?

Thinking about relocating out of Dallas: Austin, Atlanta, or Charlotte? 27 yo single male looking to eventually settle and put some roots down somewhere. I heard Atlanta is terrible for dating, but not as many things to do in Charlotte vs ATL and ATX (but overcrowding in both of those latter cities)

Big tech is making its presence known in the ATL! Microsoft is here , Amazon! I had the opportunity to interview for two related roles at Microsoft, interview went absolutely great or as I thought lol. Didn’t get the role. 3 months later , found out somebody internally got the job. I don’t feel as bad but I still hope to work for one of those major companies sooner than later . I didn’t have a referral, I applied online.

Does anyone work at BofA Emerging Growth & Regional Coverage that’d be willing to have a convo? Have seen some openings in CHI & ATL and looking to get some more info. Thanks in advance!

Looking to move from LA to ATL and stay with my current company. They are supportive of the transition, but I’m concerned about a comp adjustment since ATL might not be considered HCOL. Does any one have experience transferring offices within their company and keeping the same comp? How did you approach those conversations?

I'm an Alabama native & the culture varies drastically from Atlanta but ATL still has a vibrant energy to it that I can't quit put a pin on!

How friendly are people in ATL/how open are they to making friends? Just moved from Chicago to Dallas with my family and there's a huge cultural difference in terms of how friendly people are.

Currently negotiating temp contract with FAANG org. Initially I was offered rang of 40-50 per hour for Atlanta region however I said I work in NY market. After doing some research I realized going to atl is the better option, which they seem to not have an issue with however my contractor try to renegotiate my rate to 35 which is absurd. Claiming this is the hugest for this region but during my screen sourcer agreed to my 40-50 range for atl. Not sure how to proceed.

What are the best mid-size firms in ATL for litigators, either commercial or real estate?

Flight leaves ATL at 8:01pm on the Friday before July 4th. I know it’s going to be an insane travel weekend. What time do I need to arrive at the airport? No pre-check. Flying solo. No checked bags. Last meeting ends at 5 in Buckhead Triangle so not super close to Marta). No way I will make it right?

In contrast to the other post: Best airports in the US? I’ll start:

ATL - extremely efficient and the plane train comes often and fast. ECCO and One Flew South are both great airport restaurants.
TPA - super easy to get in and out of. The hub and spoke design is also very efficient. Terminal A is one of the most comfortable terminals out there with all of the high top tables and ample electrical outlets.

Looking for some advice on best path forward, I am currently a Cost accountant at a pretty big company based in Atl, My team is great and the people in the office are pretty nice, however the salary could be better, company feels like Im being paid market but I’ve been fending offers off for 5k-10k + bonus more. I have 4+ years of corporate experience (2 in REV acct, 1.5 in AP/AR, .75 in cost) hold a MSA, and halfway through my CPA. Any advice you can lend would be much appreciated 🤗

Anyone ever surprised at how LCOL cities like ATL, Philly, and Charlotte are? I always assume that they’d be MCOL cities but I’m always blown away by how inexpensive dining out and housing in those cities are
