Anyone ever leave a FTE job with full benefits for a 1 year contract? I'm hoping to avoid future regrets - am definitely burned out and under-comped at my current position and we've been losing team members almost every week to greener pastures. I've been at the same place since I started in tech, from an intern to a PM, 6 YOE. Currently managing a peer (!) and reporting to a VP. The contract is for a company I'm interested in working for, but no conversion guarantees and I'm nervous. Stories?

My role was just eliminated, and I need to replace it quickly. I have a solid lead on a new job but based on the job description I think it’s gonna be a lot less than I was making. I’ve seen people on one of the bowls mention working 2 full time jobs, like in different time zones or countries. Does anyone have any concrete advice on how to start that process? I'm seeing A LOT of interesting positions opening up with @Microsoft (Customer Success Manager, Account Executive, Sales Specialist etc). My experience and core strengths do align these roles but I don't have tech experience. Would you hesitate to hire someone due to typos on a business plan? My resume is spotless, & I come highly recommended by management and peers for the position. This week has been absolutely exhausting, and long story short, I noticed I misspelled “Houston” as “Huston” on the FIRST PAGE of my business plan.. TWICE!! 😩 I can’t believe I let that happen during such a critical interview. It was spelled correctly everywhere else, but it just looks sloppy. I am worried I am not going to get the job.

I got headhunted for a Pm position. What was the extensive interview process like (they told me Hiring manager screen, mini case, a power day of 4 hours) for you?

This is the week where I feel like I’m about to get crushed. Launching a new version of a product and we’re trying to get it ready for use by a customer but we’re behind schedule. Launching a new feature on another product for another customer but we’re getting a lot of bugs and we have a week to ship. Drowning and stressed out.

How tough is it to break into a FAANG PM role at mid-level if you have less prestigious experience? I have 10+ YOE in product, but some was at a tiny meh startup that fizzled out, some was in the digital wing of a large old healthcare org, and though my current role is GPM at a “name brand” tech company, it’s on the smaller side. Went to a good-but-not-Ivy school. What qualifications and experience are FAANG companies looking for when hiring mid-level PMs? Can I break in at mid-level from here?
