Anyone have any idea of pay ranges for HR Project Manager roles? Interviewing for a role and the recruiter told me they don’t have a range in mind yet - so I said 100-110K. Is that too low?

Job req is looking for 4-7 years of experience. I have 3 years of consulting experience and 3 years of HR experience.

Two things:

1) Never offer a range when a recruiter says they don't have one. Because either they're lying or the company is just trying to see who they can get for the least cost (and they wait for people like you to throw out a number). They need to do their research and present you with either a range or starting figure.

2) Project Management, esp as a manager, even more so in NYC should be at least 125k.

At your next interview, ask more about the scope and # number of in-flight projects as well as the budget size. That way, when it's time to negotiate your can say based on those things, your experience/education, your research indicates 125 (or more) would be an equitable salary.

Good luck to you!

This is so helpful, thank you!!

What location? That should be around the salary range for HR PMs, maybe slightly on the lower side for a high COL city. I interviewed for a similar role in Las Vegas in the past, and they were offering 80-100k.

I’m in NYC!

I think that's too low for 6 yoe. Most consultants make that around 2-3 yoe if they jump firms.

I’ll be honest - moving to industry will be a pay cut for me 🙁

Has anyone found a way to automate salary certifications?

We get about 3-5 requests daily to fill out salary certifications for our employees in EMEA.

At the moment, we have to do all of them manually. We open a pdf, then open their employee file and plug away. It's tedious and time-consuming, but the banks I found won't accept an internal salary certification for some reason. They're adamant about using their form. Has anyone come across this?
