Any companies/firms still hiring analysts or entry level consultants with a 2023 start date?

Anyone know how to transition from a risk consultant role which essentially is assurance to a more advisory role? I was young and naive to think this was real consulting.

My wife was offered a software engineer 2 role at intuit . Hybrid . Base 145k/year. This is what we see as base pay on levels . Is there room for negotiation? Can she ask for a sign up bonus ? If yes , what amount ?

What’s the closest job role in consulting for the Tech Lead role in tech companies? I’m a technical lead focused on research and strategy for a digital strategy consulting firm but our roles have tech companies names… I do team leadership (42 people in 10+ teams/clients reporting to me) projects technical proposals and selling for new clients, methodologies leadership, help project managers… I wanna go to another consulting firm but I get a bit confused where what I do would fit there.

What is data strategy exactly? I have started seeing this role quite a bit on Fishbowl and on LinkedIn. Is it a subset of Tech Strategy? Or is it a role that you grow into after being a specialist (Data Engineer/Analyst/Scientist)?

If I am interviewing for a position at PwC and the role says summer/fall should I tell them I am able to start earlier? Have people been able to start a role earlier due to availability or do you have to come in with that hiring class?

Hi All - I am in the last stage of interviewing for Booz Allen. I’m an aspiring consultant transitioning from industry (healthcare). BAH told me the position itself is full time but it is “attached to a contract.” Should I be worried that I would lose the job if and when the contract ends? Would love insight from current or former BAH folks

Deloitte folks - I interviewed for a role and went through all the stages and received the pre-hire survey which I filled out and submitted right away. Fast forward few weeks, I check the online job portal and the position says “no longer in process”. I emailed the recruiter for an update on the process but no reply whatsoever and haven’t gotten a rejection email. Its been a few months now and this lives rent free in my head, has this happened to others? Ty!

Someone else just got hired for my role on the project and it’s giving me so much anxiety. We have a busy upcoming fews weeks so I’m wondering if that’s why I haven’t been rolled off. The new person mention that he was approached a month ago for the roll. The idea of extended bench gives me anxiety.

I get the feeling some companies are using the wave of tech layoffs as cover to get rid of low performers and cut costs. I have no doubt that many companies need to make these cuts. But some companies, Microsoft for example, are hiring tech folks like crazy and heavily recruiting while doing these layoffs. I don’t blame them, low performers are costly and kill teams. I just think it’s something to keep in mind, there’s a bandwagon effect here. Not every tech company is in dire straits.
