Struck out at MBB/T2 for FT MBA recruiting. Didn’t get many interviews which seems to be a theme for many classmates (tough cycle). Is there any hope of getting a post-MBA consulting gig in the spring? Will firms consider me for JIT Experienced Hiring positions?

Recently terminated. Question about separation benefits. I was asked to sign an agreement to get the benefits. I had 45 days to sign it and revoke it within 7 days, if needed. But, I signed it earlier than that and then repented .When I asked HR if I can revoke it and sign it later, they said yes. I was redirected by exit team to ask for a new link for the agreement. I have been emailing the team several times, but, no response. What could be going on?

Just curious. Some years ago I got a referral by partner at PWC, someone I actually knew, they knew me, a real referral. I was also local to the location. I never even got an interview. I realize this is pure speculation, but any insights as to why?

Looking for a new job after being for Deloitte as an SC for 1.5 years and being with prior consulting firm for 7 years (8.5 YOE). I’m not up for promotion until next year but not willing to stay that long as an exp hire to *maybe* get M.

What big 4 or other large firms would be willing to interview an SC for a Manager role? My initial call with a couple recruiters made it sound like most only will do lateral until I’m M (even though I manage teams and BD).

Requesting a referral to All-State please!

Been missold a role on a project. What can I do? I’m a data governance practitioner. They didn’t tell me the role, but I only found out on day 1 during a call with client when they introduced me as a “data lead”. They are building some architecture for a CRM system, and my project manager keep saying “your the data person” to me about anything with the word data during discussions, whether it’s datalake, real/time data, integrations etc. (more in comments)

What can I do outside the office to boost my resume and be a substantially more attractive candidate for top consulting firms in ~12 months time. Working in disputes and valuation role but want to go into management consulting next year (post MBA role). I feel like my job isn’t enough because skills aren’t considered as transferable outside this field.

I’m resentful that I didn’t get the manager promotion I was shooting for. I had multiple partners and directors support my case, but I was informed due to the economic state of the firm there were less spots available. I am having a hard time focusing and having to push for another 6 months for another shot at getting promoted. I know I want to get out of consulting, but would you stay for the promotion in the hopes of better exit ops? Or should I apply and look to leave now?

Hi all, I received an offer with another company and wanted to ask how I would go about speaking to my manager leaving/asking for a counter offer. The new role is in another location and I would really prefer if I didn’t have to move, but my current salary is way below market average. I completed a first round interview with EYP in the summer. A few weeks later I was notified by the recruiter that there is a hiring freeze. I reached back out in October, and the recruiter let me know she was moving on from the organization and connected me with her replacement. The replacement seems to be ghosting me. Should I reach out to the partner i interviewed with?

I’m a POC, and I started a new role. I tried inserting myself by participating in small talk with my cubical neighbors. Small talk is not fun, but it's a start to getting to know someone. They seem disinterested. I have initiated 100% of our conversations.

Should I call the recruiter? I had an introductory phone call with a recruiter two weeks ago about a position. She did not get back to me about setting up an interview with the hiring manager and I emailed her a week later to follow up a couple days before Thanksgiving. no reply. I want to follow up with her now that we’re back from the holidays but I’m thinking calling her will probably be more successful in getting a response. is that too annoying? Or should I just follow up again via email?
