It feels weird posting a LinkedIn post in FishBowl, but I found this post from Jamal very insightful. I would have just copied the text, but I want to give him credit.
The current administration has banned critical race theory-based diversity training across federal agencies claiming education around white privilege is anti-American. As someone who is dedicated to anti-racism work, I believe these conversations on the pervasiveness of systemic racism are necessary in order to dismantle the broken system and are central to our work as HR professionals. I fear what precedent this ban will set. Thoughts from other HR pros? https://www.forbes.com/sites/janicegassam/2020/09/05/trump-bans-diversity-training-claiming-its-divisive-anti-american-propaganda/
How do you communicate with employees who don't want to wear masks? Unbelievable to me people still have issues grasping this need.

Anyone here struggling to get new meetings? A thread for posting what services your company offers and maybe we can help make some connections to get into new accounts.
We've had a few instances of possible COVID sick employees that returned with negative test results. Upper management is basically asking if there is something they can do to help control what employees are doing in their off time (ie. going to bars or other places with a lot of people). They even went as far as to mention something about a wedding that 3 of the employees are in together. Can an employer have ANY control over an employee's time off? It seems crazy to think that they think they can.
I keep hiring sales people who are super enthusiastic and overpromising on what they deliver. I put them through a trial month (no base + commission only) and they do not close a single deal, Even though the commission structure is amazing and I’m incentivizing them through the roof. We experienced sales people are asking for a base and commission but I’m scared that I’ll end up having a base and the same thing will end up happening. What am I doing wrong?
Hello I’m an HR Specialist with 6 years exp and I’ve worked with Fortune 500 companies and now I’m looking to transition into a people and culture role in a start up space but I’m having trouble with highlighting my skills to showcase that I’d be a good fit and have the necessary experience. I find startups want someone with startup experience. Any insight?
Curious, how many companies out there have a dedicated learning and development team? If you don't, who is responsible for the development of your employees?
How documented and transparent is the performance evaluation process at your orgs? Do your orgs go out of their way to publish the process broadly to employees?

If your competitor reached out to ask “how do you sell against us” would you tell them? They should already know... or at least have an idea.

How to handle potential backlash over mandatory mask wearing? We have an employee who refused based on having COPD. We had him fill out medical accommodation paperwork, and then put him on leave.

Does a 20 year long career at Deloitte hold much value in the marketplace in light of the current economic situation? Started as a change leadership Consultant, but ultimately spent majority of my career in Resource Management and Global Mobility.
Have any of you worked with recruiters you liked? Who? Thinking about transitioning into recruiting, seeking info and contacts.
Is it typical at your agency that every other department gets regular/fast promotions EXCEPT PMs? Was told no raises/promotions due to poor company performance then 2 AMs got promoted a month later.
Seattle question. Offered base salary 110k as a finance manager in Seattle in the industry and I am a 1st year audit manager at KPMG now. Is this fair or I have been low balled?
For the upcoming recruiting cycle, what portion of roles will be for 2021 start? Or will roles be mostly 2022?

Have a 10hr flight in about 36 hours and I'm feeling sick (runny nose, bit of sore throat, etc). What do you travel warriors recommend I do until and during the flight? No way I'm missing the flight
What mid-long term impact do you think CoVid-19 will have? Me: I think it will inhibit future generation to start their own small business/start ups after seeing many small business owners go through this.
Elizabeth Warren got shut up in the Senate tonight for breaking the rules. Fricken hilarious to see happen.
Those of you on Federal projects, what are you up to? Are you working still, waiting things out? How have the shutdown impacted what you’re working on? Notice a lot fewer people traveling this month.

On a weekly basis, because my cell has the same first six numbers as my mother's cell, I worry that I accidentally gave someone my mom's cell phone #.
