I’ve been in my current position (Bookkeeper) for 4 years now. How do you guys handle working with a staff accountant who just completely ignores you when you delegate work down to them, and who gives you an attitude all the time? If I send an email, I also have to follow up with her on teams multiple times, and hope after a few hours she actually does what she says she will do. I moved from public to industry recently, and I’ve always had great staff that wanted to do well and have never experienced working with someone who just doesn’t want to do the job.

Auditing is such a rabbit hole. Especially controls. Like at some point you gotta just stop

How do you all deal with negative, almost-attacking emails from creative superiors at work? Do you respond or just let it go?

I started a new job recently and then had my PTSD seriously triggered, plus a panic attack. Felt so on edge and low on emotional resources for over a week that I wasn’t myself and apparently really rubbed a few people the wrong way so I was called in for a talking to 😣. I let people know there were some personal things going on, but didn’t mention the PTSD—very unsure if that’s something to share, or if I’d be judged for it or... I don’t even know. Has anyone else dealt with PTSD and had it impact them at work, and how did you handle it?

I’m graduating in December, with a background in environmental economics and policy. Consulting didn’t work out this cycle. Made it to final rounds for Bain and Kearney but in the end didn’t get an offer. I want to recoup and try again, but I’m worried that once I’m out of undergrad the door will be closed to starting in consulting.

What can I do to make this happen? I have friends and connections at Bain and Kearney and the other firms as well, but not sure if it’s feasible now.
