My client requested that I remake all graph axises in a 100 slide quarterly deck manually. As in, every unit on each axis should be its own individual text box rather than use excel’s built in axis labels. It took me an entire weekend, partner thanked me for taking one for the team, we couldn’t push back due to wanting to sign a new project with this client.
Don't have a client one, but one from my ex boss, he said: your work is shit, you are shit (I know it's not true). I told him to stop talking to me like that. He got really mad and very emotional. I went to his boss and said: he's a shit manager. His boss said: I know, let's work on it together.
I handed my resignation in on bonus day and called in sick after. No way that will ever happen to me again.
My old boss said I was unevolved. That’s not even the worst thing he did.
Zoom background recording of me came on in addition to my actual live camera. So there were two of me on zoom...in a client meeting with 50 people that I was running...
Having kinky thoughts today OP?
;)
At the client team review before steerco we got destroyed, yelled at, mocked. To the point that we flagged it to the partner and wondered if they would pay our fees in the end.
One hour later, during the steerco with C suite (and partner), a few of the client team attended and they were complete lambs. The C folks were excited and happy.
Following both of those meetings, the partner yelled at us for being yelled at and worrying him when in the end everything was fine.
Developed detailed training manuals in electronic format for a new system implementation. All told about 250 pages of info. Three days before go live the client says that we have to produce hard copies for all the key users/trainers (about 100 users) because the company culture was to have a physical binder on their desk that they could reference, rather than use the crappy intranet document storage system they had.
And to make it worse we were limited to using the inkjet printer and copier in that office because there was not enough time (or budget) to raise a PO with a printing vendor.
