I always have to go back and audit my commission pay because it’s never correct. A year ago when I found out that I could actually do that, I was a little bummed I’ve been missing out on that for months . My manager said “well it’s your paycheck”. My first sales job I never had to do worry about getting paid correctly. I’d like to think that companies take responsibility for paying their employees accurately and fairly. Is this a common thing in sales or was I just spoiled that first job?

Any strategies or resources you could recommend for getting rid of the dreaded annual performance review (or at least lessening the dread) and creating a more effective year round performance feedback system? Our review is currently tied to our end of year bonuses and merit increases, so not sure I could get rid of it entirely. This would be for hourly and management employees, all working on-site.

Hi everyone I need an advice. I have received an offer letter for a company A, however it took a while for the contract to arrive and in the meantime I was still in the active process with company B. At the moment I a awaiting for B to make final decision about my application. When I received the offer I notified B about this opportunity. I have decided to decline the offer. If B is going to ask me why I decided to refuse A what should say? B asked me to update them with my decision with A offer

Does your company offer an insurance payout to employees who opt out of your insurance plan and if so how much? We do, however we think it’s too low of an offering and would like to increase it. We want it to be logical from a financial standpoint.

Has anyone transitioned from direct sales to indirect (channel, solutions consulting, etc.)? I’m an Enterprise AM currently (6+ years of total closing experience in SaaS) but looking to make a change sometime in the next 18-24 months. Certainly expecting to sacrifice financial upside but growing tired of the grind.

So my company has slowly been pulling back on the WFH policy. And for the past six months, we’ve been offering a hybrid schedule, however; the higher-ups decided this week that we are to enforce a full return to the office by the beginning of Q4. This is not going to go over well, how do I soften the blow when explaining the new policy to the team?

I became a people manager in the middle of a major implementation last year and we didn’t have a conversation around compensation changes - which I recognize was a huge mistake on my side for not ensuring we did. I don’t know if I can appropriately have the conversation now. I’m also considering leaving for a new position, but unsure if I could even make more money elsewhere. I’m currently a Senior HRIS Analyst making $99k base + 10% bonus potential. Just looking for some advice.

Alright, I got an offers from Spotify and Meta, Google seems it's gonna be positive based on last recruiter note but I still don't know. In case the feedback comes positive in the last one, I'm now debating where I should go. I swear I never imagined to be in such a lucky position.

Money is important to me, but it's not my determinant factor. I have been in terrible places before with bad culture. I would love to hear your insights about career growth, WLB and company’s culture.

Have about 100k to invest. Few thoughts.
1. I could pay 80k towards my home mortgage to get LTV down to 70/30 that would give me a 0.65% reduced interest on 30yr fixed ($4k savings in interest annually) comes out to about 5% return on 80k
2. Invest in stocks - not sure if it’s a good time to get
3. Look at other real estate for investment purpose (have no prior experience/knowledge)
4. Hold for 6 months (election) to figure out.
5. Any other suggestions?

I can take a bit of risk....

As a CD-level designer, should my book reflect my most recent work, my greatest hits, or my biggest, high-visibility clients? Or all of the above? What’s the correct balance? And at what point should a project be “retired”?

Also, how important is it to keep it up to date with the latest? I feel like I’m constantly working on my book and it never ends. I flip back and forth between feeling great and feeling like I’m not that good any more. It’s getting harder to land jobs as I get older.
