I’m thinking about applying to Jackson Walker to be a litigation associate in their Dallas office. What are the average hours associates work per week? How is the culture?
Any insight into Jackson Walker?
Do you feel if you switch sales industries that it can be a bad look on your resume for the future? Contemplating a few roles that aren’t in the line of what I’ve done. TIA!
Any good AE positions in the Orange County area?
I’m about to give my two-week notice next week and I’m just slightly worried since my proposed last day at the firm would be the day I’m supposed to receive my bonus for the prior year (oct ‘19 - oct ‘20). I’m just slightly worried that they could do something to try to screw me out of it - even though its for the prior year and I billed out at the highest bonus threshold we have. I was thinking I’d wait at least until my bonus figure was communicated in writing. Anyone disagree w that approaxh?
I want to get my masters in HR, but I also want to get my phr.. is it better to get one over the other? Or should I do both. Are there any masters hr program someone can recommend?
Work BURNOUT… LET’S TALK ABOUT IT. So a little back story. I am 38 a full full time single mom. I work about 60 hours per week. I do not get child support. My employer currently expects me to bring in 15 new customers & 100 existing every month… minimum. I have realized with my upcoming paid time off that I am burnt out. I recently have had no motivation to produce because I so desperately need a break. I sell internet and am the 2nd top producing rep in the region. Opinions to get my mojo back.
I work as a Sales Support Specialist with 3 YOE working at a SaaS company. My dream career is to work at Microsoft. If there are any Microsoft recruiters here, I am open to different roles that pay in excess of 80k Microsoft
Is anyone else here spending their Sunday studying for the CA bar and questioning their decision or is that just me?
If you’ve switched from HR generalist (manager, director, etc.) roles to specialize in something, can you share how you made the switch? Curious how to articulate to potential employers how I’m qualified to specialize rather than be a generalist, if generalist roles are what I have for 6+ years of experience. Thanks!
Is corporate going to stay “hot” forever? Or at least be able to sustain its growth. In my firm and most others I know, the Corp department has doubled litigation now.

Do plaintiffs firms care as much about credentials (e.g., law school, gpa, etc.) as defense firms?
I’m getting ready for my first telephonic Case Management Conference as a first year associate. I’ve never been “in front” of a judge before. I received some training and I look forward to the experience, but I’m a little nervous about having to speak in front of the judge. I know the case, but I’m afraid I’ll freeze and make a fool of myself. Any advice re: court calls, courtroom etiquette, or stories about your first times in front of judges?
looking for advice on calculating what i’m worth.
i feel underpaid but have no information to back it up. i’m an HR Coordinator and have 3 YoE in HR specifically, 8 years in administration overall. i help with benefits, payroll, delegating, training, making graphics/flyers/tutorial videos, employee events, performance reviews, and so much more. what are people making who are similar to me and how do i go about gathering information on what i should be getting compensated? thanks in advance!
Hi all! We hired a new member to our HR team and after seeing them perform well, their job description was added to and salary and grade increased. I have been at the company for four years and thought that I to would see an ‘extra’ increase, due to my performance and having received an unbudgeted bonus in 2021 due to performance. After my annual review my new team mate earns more than I do and we have similar HR experience and our roles are the same grade. Should I ask for further increase?
My leadership of a startup in California is very anti-COVID restrictions and has recently said that they want to force employees to come into the office, no exceptions, even though our County is still in the highest restriction level. None of our roles require anyone to be in the office to complete their responsibilities. They also don't want to follow guidelines (like masks), but I think they'd be willing to somewhat if they were forcing people in. Anyone have advice here and how you are supporting leadership through this? I don't know of any fines related to bucking the restrictions. I do know about the mandatory reporting implemented by Gov. Newsom, but that's extent of it. How are you handling this at your company?
Have my final one on one with my manager tomorrow before leaving for another position. Anything I should say in our meeting before leaving?

Would you get annoyed if your bf says ‘let me take you to ___’ and either make you pay or go Dutch? Two months in so it’s not like we have joint finances and no longer care.

If I’m trying to overcome a poor undergrad GPA of 3.2 (top 10 ug business school) and aiming for M7/T10, does it make more sense to take the GMAT over GRE? fwiw my verbal skills are a little stronger than quant so I think I’ll do better on the GRE objectively. What do y’all think?
My bf and I are talking about moving in together but his lease ends in October and mine in May. So no one has to break their lease, and for other reasons below cont.
Any tips on handling pro se plaintiffs? sometimes I feel like I know about as much as a pro se does (but I’m coming up on my 1 year anniversary of lawyering and they didn’t teach us how to deal with pro se plaintiffs in law school). Virginia FWIW.

I am interviewing for a clinical specialist position with Haemonetics. Does anyone have any experience working for them?
Hi There - I'm considering a role in consulting. The role is London based and as some of you may know the commute into London by train is significantly expensive (especially compared to my pre-covid commute by car). So that I can properly consider any offers I may get - can you claim expenses generally when travelling to client site, if that client site is also in London (albeit a different part of London to where your home office).
Might be a weird question but... does anyone have an recommendations on effective recruiters? Recruiters that have done a great job in helping find roles
Which group at your firm has the most fun? Not necessarily the most sought after group, just the most fun!
Has anyone rescheduled a biometrics appointment successfully? USCIS does not define what “good reasons” are for rescheduling. I have a trip (which I know it’s not an ideal rescheduling reason) which I can’t get a refund for. Any advice on how to approach this? Should I tell them I need a reschedule for personal reasons? Should I try to walk in a week before my appointment? (Reason for bio request is for Advance Parole-Travel Permit)
I’m dealing with an account director who is constantly rubbing all of the PMs the wrong way. She’s pushy, and has told me twice now to either “check with her” before sending anything to the creatives and to let her send client feedback internally. She also speaks down to the PMs (including my boss).
I’ve been in PM for over a decade, frankly longer than she’s been out of college, and I don’t understand this! I’ve escalated to my boss w/screenshots and she doesn’t care for this AD either.
