New/pivoting into HR! 👋 Currently working as a TA Coord with a little entry level work in HR Ops prior to this. Is there a SHRM link, reliable test, or method of shadowing the various parts of HR that will provide a sample of the work, thinking, and day to day experience of each group? I didn’t go to school for HR and therefore haven’t had the opportunity to sample HR Ops. vs. TA vs. Comp vs. Benefits vs. Payroll, etc. I know work experience is the best barometer, but what can supplement this?

Seeking advice on job titles.

I'm looking for roles that have aspects of event strategy & marketing. I have experience doing both and would like to continue on that path but I struggle with what titles to look for. Company suggestions are appreciated as well! Is there a role out there that would allow me to work with clients and plan their event/marketing strategy?

I’m client side now at a big corporation’s in-house agency and I cannot imagine going back to 60+ hour weeks, low pay, minimal benefits, and the uncertainty/anxiety of agency life.

Has anyone transitioned from being an Account Executive into a CSM at a new company? If so, how’d you do it and what was the process like?

Those selling into enterprise/named accounts what percent does your quota increase annually? Do you feel that your raises and bonus match the increase?

Is there a good argument for getting both PHR and SHRM-CP?

Is there any way an account person can get a legit production credit on a spot? Asking for a friend.

How long does the PERM approval take these days y’all?

So my fiancé and I are having a microwedding in Rocky Mountain National Park next year, and we’re working with an elopement planner.
She sent over a sample ceremony (intro, sweet poems + passages to be read, and example vows), and we read through it last night. I was reading it out loud while my fiancé made dinner, and it just hit me that this is really happening. I’m just really happy that I found someone who is willing to take a vow to spend his life with me and I’m so excited for that day :)

Not sure if this is an ADHD symptom or a form of avoidance that’s specific to me but since I’ve started working, I feel physically incapable of keeping up with my friendships and relationships, like the bandwidth is completely gone. I never felt this way in law school/ever before but now I’m going ages without responding to texts and I’m starting to really see some strong friendships fall to the wayside. The thing is if I had anything to give, I would!
