For those in b2b sales how are your orders placed most? Online, customer service or sales reps?
What is your policy on a rehire and how you handle accrual rates for PTO, do you start over? Do you have a window like if they return within 6 months it stays with original hire date? Do you handle this differently when it is a layoff? I tried to find best practices in this but not finding anything.
Are you folks happy with your decision to make a career in sales? I’m young working in tech sales, but also have my bachelors in psychology, and could see my self happily going for my masters maybe even PHD and being a counselor.
Has anyone recently implemented ADP’s WorkforceNow platform? Curious to hear people’s experiences.
Hi there! I need some guidance. HR and global leadership rolled out some amazing new initiatives like not starting until 10 am on Mondays, no meeting Fridays and required 2 additional summer days a month. The problem is, my boss refuses to comply with the initiatives. He constantly scheduled meetings before 8 am on Mondays and after 7 pm on Fridays. He also doesn’t let me take time off. Should I go to HR? I’m really not one to complain but I’m tired and extremely burnt out. Thanks for your help!
For all that HR leaders have done to shoulder the huge responsibilities over the last 6 months, what are your organizations doing to take care of you? For all the space we hold for other people, is anyone holding space for you?
I’m not happy where I’m at, my abilities aren’t being maximized as I’m spread thin, and I know I’m being undervalued. Recently graduated and in property management w/ 3-4 years sales experience. Currently on the hunt for Sales/Account Management roles leaning more towards consumer goods, then tech. Any advice?
Last year was a tough year for my boss so I stepped in to lead our team. We received an award for navigating through crisis and really were able to impact careers in a positive was from our work. My boss gave me a merit raise of 3% yesterday and was very excited to do so. I’m appreciative of the recognized effort however I still make on the lower end of industry standard. What would you recommend? This is my professional gap too - uncomfortable conversations.
I recently started at a larger software company as an AE. As I’m getting more into the process, I’m finding things odd. Like, cold calls and emails are metrics I’m judged on more than closed won business. I know that’s part of the job but it seems strange I’m judged on it so heavily. And, I seem to be the first real outside AE hire as everyone else seems to have been promoted up from SDR roles, including all of my direct management. I’m questioning if I made the right move. Stick it out or look?
Looking for referrals. Boyfriend just got a reject from AWS :( I referred him and personally, I think they marked him as overqualified for the role he was applying to because he used my exact template to interview but was a military officer in addition to 5ish years of tech sales experience. Looking for companies that values vets (even ones more than 18 months out from their discharge) hiring for jr sales, inside sales, or account manager/ client success.
How long do you typically allow for self assessments and manager assessments for year-end? This year we gave employees a week and managers 3 weeks (holidays not included), but they still said it wasn’t long enough even though most waited until the very last day to complete them.
I'm a little bit under two years in my HR career. I was hired on full time has an HR Generalist and I want to start studying for my SHRM-CP, but I'm a little bit intimidated on how to start. Any advice would be helpful. So far I am going to get SHRM-CP/SHRM-SCP Certification All-in-One Exam Guide by Dory Willer on Amazon. Are there free online tests to take that are comparable to the exam?
Good morning, I work for Solugenix placing top notch candidates at companies throughout the US. I just started at Solugenix so anyone who needs any assistance either finding a job or looking for candidates please let me know. Thanks and have a great day.
Any strategies or resources you could recommend for getting rid of the dreaded annual performance review (or at least lessening the dread) and creating a more effective year round performance feedback system? Our review is currently tied to our end of year bonuses and merit increases, so not sure I could get rid of it entirely. This would be for hourly and management employees, all working on-site.
Is your organization planning to require employees be vaccinated? I understand why management wants this but concerned about losing good employees because they don’t believe in vaccination or are wanting to wait until more people have been vaccinated to see if there are issues with it. I’m also concerned with moral if we require this. Employees may get it to keep there job but hold on to some bitterness or develop anxiety over it. Am I being too soft or over analyzing?
Does anyone have any recommendations for a one-stop-shop learning management system, payroll and benefits platform and applicant tracking system? If not, can anyone propose two cost-efficient platforms that integrate well with one another? Company size: 250-500 employees
One of my executives thinks he is being endearing by calling women "Baby" "Gorgeous" "Sweetie" and he calls men "handsome". I have had multiple complaints against him from female employees and vendors. Does anyone know of any good training courses or advice that can help in this scenario?
What's the harshest thing your Buyer has ever said to you? Ex: Buyer emailed my colleague "instead of sharing photos of our empty shelves why don't you spend your time getting us more product"

Maybe this is a confidence issue BUT: I'm scared to get an MBA worrying that I might not land a job offer once I get out.
Anyone at firms with associate salary increases have any visibility into how it’s affecting counsel pay (or of counsel or special council or whatever you call promotion but to non-partner permanent employee)? Saw Pillsbury had a 7.5% increase, but haven’t seen word from the others.
Hello! I have an inital call with HR coming up for a non-technical program manager role and I’m anticipating the expected total comp question. I’m coming from a non-tech background so I’m not sure what would be reasonable. Not sure what L level this role would be (it’s titled just Program Manager). Role would be in the Bay Area (currently live in DC). I’ve got 10 YOE, mostly in the government (3 in consulting). Any insight would be helpful!
I graduated from MBA program a few years back and want to drop one key MBA wisdom for the incoming class If you go to a bar for any happy hour with your cohort/class, ALWAYS close out your tab after each drink. (Unless you want to end up with $1,000+ bar bill and pay for your entire class because your bartender thought you are paying for the entire group)
Hi Tax Bowlers, I'm an experienced associate (2yrs) in a Big 4 Transfer Pricing division. I have reached a point in my career where I am considering taking up a professional certification. Several colleagues recommended taking up either ACCA or CFA, however, I see little connection between these certifications and the work that I am currently doing, and what I plan to do in the future. What would you guys suggest? Would it be detrimental to my career if I did not take up any certifications?
It’s Friday 4 pm, and the Consultant managing our project just threw the cap of his pen at my face out of frustration due to a typo on a slide. This is appalling- can I report this?
Aside from validating that I have the skillset, is there great value in attaining a PMP for a ~8yr Advisory consultant?
Got scheduled for a random MD chat tomorrow. Wish me luck. My heart just sank, but I knew this might happen due to lower chargeability. Ironic since yesterday I dreamt I got laid off.
Pre covid we saw maybe a dozen or two planes flying over our house each day. Skies have been silent since March but yesterday we saw five or six within a few hours. Anyone else noticing an uptick?
Does anyone have recommendations for good legal recruiters in LA/Southern CA? Currently in-house, looking for other in-house roles. Thanks in advance!
Does anyone have experience telling a manger that they have to temporarily relocate (1 year) because of a SO’s job assignment? I know many at my firm have done this successfully and we’re all remote until the fall anyway, but I’m feeling anxious about it. Any/all insight welcome
I’ve been in a fog lately due to being sick/tired and made a simple error today and haven’t been connecting the dots as I usually do. My team has noticed. What should I do? I’m beating myself up.
