Hoping to get my PHR in the next year or so. Outside of employer reimbursement, are there other opportunities for this to get funded? I know SHRM Foundation offers scholarships for the CP, but I am looking for PHR specific help. Thank you! :)
Advice on taking and passing the SPHR exam?
I’m looking for a screening tool that will assess a candidate’s proficiency with MS-Teams. Would anyone know if there is such a thing that exists?
How are the in-house attorneys fairing right now? Any layoffs or pay reductions happening like in most firms?
Solo who started pre-pandemic and as a result never transitioned into a traditional office setting. I enjoy work from home and it keeps overhead obviously low. I can afford to move into an office now (and planned to do so last spring before the shutdown). I find myself hesitating to make the leap. I’ve found most clients prefer zoom consultations or house calls. I practice in PI and cannabis. Curious to hear others’ thoughts on the necessity of a brick and mortar post pandemic. Thanks.
Good morning, I work for Solugenix placing top notch candidates at companies throughout the US. I just started at Solugenix so anyone who needs any assistance either finding a job or looking for candidates please let me know. Thanks and have a great day.
When drafting an MSJ is it better to address the ways that OC might overcome it; or is it better to just generally say why you’re entitled to MSJ and avoid tackling the finer issues that your MSJ presents?
I’m a 2016 grad making $120k in a small to mid-size regional firm. I’m based in Nashville. My firm’s management is trying to survey other small to mid-size regional firms to get a feel for where the comp is now, especially in light of the big law increases that are making headlines, and to see just how far below market we may have fallen. Any additional data points from smaller regional firms (especially if you have a presence in Nashville or across the SE) would be appreciated! TIA
I’m the only associate in my dept (niche transactional practice group, 4th yr). It’s so hard for me to gauge my progress when my only points of comparison are equity partners. I’ve been feeling like such a failure recently. I feel like I should be getting fewer comments on the documents I draft. I feel like I should have fewer questions. I feel like I’m always making mistakes...but I have no way to tell if I’m behind or not. Any recommendations (other than asking my partners, obviously)?
Does this get better or do we just hate our lives (and not have lives) until we leave the legal field altogether? Wondering if academia is better…
Any thoughts on the best certifications to get in order to help move forward? I have considered the CCP from World at Work, but it’s fairly pricey to get by the time you wrap up everything. I was looking at both SHRM-CP and SPHR. Everyone that I have spoken to has the SHRM, but that’s also only looking at individuals in a small geographic footprint and within 3-4 different companies. I was hoping to get some thoughts on this from others? Thanks
What’s the most petty thing you’ve seen a firm do to an attorney who is lateraling out? Mine just revoked my renewal paperwork and payment for 2021-22 bar dues, even though they’ve already submitted it I’ll still be an employee when they’re due (7/1). Money’s not the issue. They can dock the $400 from my final check for all I care. The administrative hassle is the petty part, and it’s so inconsequential that it genuinely made me chuckle. I don’t even blame them. Kinda respect the hustle tbh.
When a law firm is looking for a 33/34 act attorney does it need an one working primarily with public companies? Or private companies as well? I’m a corporate and securities attorney, all my clients are private EGC and PE/ VC/ hedge funds, I usually ensure that they are exempted from 33/34 acts
Need to define diverse talent metrics to create a scorecard. Challenge is that the available data is based on opting in/out of self identification, that data point can change dramatically YOY. Any recommendations on metrics and scorecard?
Are you folks happy with your decision to make a career in sales? I’m young working in tech sales, but also have my bachelors in psychology, and could see my self happily going for my masters maybe even PHD and being a counselor.

Traveling back to India soon. Any good recommendations for Covid testing centers in San Jose? Can I get tested at one of those free testing centers? Don't wanna pay $200 for the test at CVS/Walgreens.
Wanted to understand what is the salary range of a product manager/owner role at Bangalore location for a product based company with 10 years of experience. I am hearing that couple of folks are getting 50 lakhs plus with 10 years of experience is it true ?

I really want to get out of internal HR and move in to a consulting / advisory position but when I review the job descriptions for many advisory roles I immediately take myself out of applying because I don’t have the consulting experience required for higher levels. Anyone from a consulting firm have advice on how to get my foot in the door? I have 10+ years of HR experience.
Considering a role at Accenture. What are their staff levels called equivalent to PwC’s SA or M? What’s their promotion cadence too?
1.5 years of MBB consulting, and another 2 years of Deloitte consulting. Getting an offer for a manager at a large startup in Toronto. Offer is $110k plus 20% bonus (no equity). Really cool role but
Was offered a Strategy Consultant role with Accenture (progression point C) for $150k. Asked what the sign-on bonus would be and was told $20k. Is this fair comp? Should I negotiate? I tried to negotiate salary but was told it is fixed. I haven't tried to negotiate sign-on yet, but also feel like it's fair and don't want to lose the offer. What would you do? Background: Program director for a nonprofit for the past 5-7 years. Double masters in education (no mba).
Prior to covid what was the policy for travel at Kearney? I read in an old post it seemed to be business for flights over 3.5hrs and trans-continental. Is this still the policy?Kearney

creative call for breast pump accessories Art Producer said, “ When she is done milking.” All laughed but as the only mom on the call I wanted to hang up ..move on from the project like a bad dream.
So, recruiter just called with an offer but leveled down on the position. Does anyone here have success stories to sticking with the position you interviewed for (what did you say/do)?
Hello 🐠, since I have to wait 2 days for a covid test I’m reaching out to my peers for insight. Has anyone been covid-positive and had only flu-like symptoms? No respiratory symptoms. Just nausea, loss of appetite, weakness and dizziness for the past couple days. Feel hot but no fever. Is there a regular flu going around?
Just learned my firm won’t pay me the mid-year bonus if I give notice before pay day (even if I leave after). That means I can give same-day notice when I quit, right?
