How long, on average, did it take you to study before you could pass the PHR/SPHR exam? Did you think it was worth it?

How many of you have actually read the entire handbook? How long was it? What was the hardest or easiest part of the handbook for you?
Having read the Outward Mindset from the Arbinger Institute I wonder if any of you have used it in your business to help with a cultural mind shift? If so, do you have thoughts you can share? Thanks!!
Seeing a lot of posts about SDRs and concern over CTR and response rate. After a while you need to think about changing the medium, not the messaging.
Do seasoned enterprise reps actually think that MEDDIC helps the sales process? This is coming from the perspective that champions are undervalued and the economic buyer in a F500 company does not usually speak with vendors. The market here is developer tooling. Curious to hear thoughts as many sales leaders use MEDDIC as an inspection tool to manage sales reps with little practical value for deals.
Trying to work with my team in a remote environment by getting them more disciplined. What's your Monday routine?
Currently, we're using JazzHR for our ATS and importing new hires in ADP WorkForce Now, our HRIS and where we run payroll. JazzHR has been great, and ADP has mostly been a pain. We're also using Concur for expenses. Just did a demo with Paycom and was generally really pleased, except the ATS which seems really bare bones compared to JazzHR. Is it worth trading the ease and functionality of our standalone ATS to get an all-in-one solution?
Does anyone have any recommendations for a years of service awards vendor? We are looking to move to an online catalog where our employees can pick the gift they want. Thanks in advance!
Has anyone written the CHRL Employment Exam in Canada - Ontario specifically. What was your experience like and how did you prepare?
It's great to finally have a bowl of our own! In terms of HCM software, what is something that all of them tend to be missing, aside from a good user experience?
What does Sales Enablement mean to you? Does anyone here work in some type of Sales Enablement roll currently?
Just venting. I’m tech, and many employees (like 85%) think that being a jerk is a badge of honor and their EQ is like at high school level, so talking to them about diversity issues is like banging head against the wall. They insist that any diversity hire is costing a job to another person with PhD. On top of it, another fancy thing to do in tech is to hate HR. So the conversations usually are like “Oh, you’re in HR, I understand now why you have such a stupid opinion”.
What are your thoughts on having your webcam on/off for meetings with prospects? Do you have them turn it on, differences in industries for value of face-to-face, etc?
When an employee complains about their manager how do you address it?...The employee was not reporting any harassment allegations; it was the standard “I do everything and make my boss look good while my boss does nothing all day.” There is really nothing to work off of here and I don’t know how to respond other than “sorry that sucks” and “what do you suggest be done?”
How do your companies recognize technical (e.g., STEM) accomplishments? I’ve heard of old school things like fellowships and “Distinguished Engineer” titles. Wondering what other places do now. I’m struggling to see where my path leads if I don’t want to be a people manager and instead focus on becoming a top technical IC instead. Are there clear paths for that anymore?
So I just received an offer from another company and would like to tell my boss that I’ve been unhappy and received another offer. Ideally I’d like to stay and see some changes but I’m not sure if that will happen. Thoughts? Advice?
I'm speaking with EY and KPMG regarding advisory roles. Currently an audit senior 1. Anyways, is there a big salary jump? Has anyone done this jump and what % and/or $ was your raise?
What happened after the 60 grace period for the h-1b? Do I lose the visa completely? I have a company that wants to sponsor me and they are waiting for an approval from HR. My I-94 expires in 2021
Anyone know good firms hiring cyber security folks in Austin? Doesn't need to be a consulting firm. Considering my exit opps.
Hey everyone. Just want to share some exciting news before the holiday. Fishbowl had the most professionals sign up in the month of June than any previous month, growing new professionals over 30% MoM! A key reason for this is because the communities you lead provide an engaging experience that give people meaning & connection. Thanks for all that you do, and for being on this journey with us! Stay safe this 4rth.
This is the first weekend in months that I’ve generally felt great! It’s my second week of consistent meditation. Anyone else meditate (do you attend a class)? What else do you do to promote good vibes and happiness?
I’m looking to transition from healthcare management (clinical and PM work) to healthcare consulting. I’m based in ATL and actively looking. I have about 5 YOE and have worked with senior management. Any insight or leads? I have done a lot of research on boutique, medium size and big 4 firms but it’s tough to make the switch without a referral. Anyone willing to help a sister out?!
Looking for a referral to FAANG/M in a program manager role. Currently at B4, financial services/tech industry experience prior to joining B4. On a project focused on tech implementation/digital transformation currently. 9YOE
My senior has a very "my staff works hard so that I don't have to" attitude and I'm kinda sick of it.
What can one expect to make in a promotion at a tech company? In consulting, seems like average would be 8-10% a year. In industry I hear it’s 2-3% but maybe huge jumps if given promotions?
M here. Met a girl who's giving a lot of good signals/is flirty in person. We click well, but she doesn't initiate conversations over texts and when she does reply, the replies are bare bones, as though there's no chemistry. We're only 2 dates in. Do you ever "confront" someone over this? Like asking them if they're not a fan of texting or something? Or just let it go? I feel like it's a mixed signal to be great in person and but terrible / never initiate with texts.
Tradeshow tips? Any ideas on good promotional items or games/raffles that make prospects approach and leave an impression?
