2 years ago I joined this company and left after 2.5 months, wasn’t a culture fit. They obviously weren’t happy but they seemed to respect my decision and I was professional about it. I came across an opening that I wanna apply to but was looking at their team and the partner of the group I joined (same partner I interviewed) is on the advisory board, it’s a 15 people company. Do I even apply to that job and hope we don’t cross paths/they won’t ask him about me or just not even bother?

I don’t think they’d ask as hiring process usually doesn’t go through the board unless you’re executives. I say go for it. If you don’t apply, you won’t even get the chance.

Is your old partner at the new company or just a board member?

like

Just a board member.

Why not reach out to the partner first to establish the right narrative? “I worked for you at XYZ firm, and while it ultimately did not feel like the right for me I have benefitted from the professional growth during my tenure.....wanted to give you notice that I plan on applying to this position.....any feedback is appreciated as well...”

like

I mean you might as well apply - The worst that happens is they say no. If you don’t apply, the the answer is automatically no.

Thanks all. I am gonna give it a shot!

Hi folks. I need to prepare for se3 position for Google . I have 45 days time, please help a fellow techie of how, what and why🥺🥺🥺 Google

When you recruiters say at the end of a 15 min call.
“I will get back to you by the end of this week” does that really mean “your not right for this position”? Because this whole thing is a waste of time. I’ve did these calls with 3 recruiters and is yet to hear back from someone. Today would be the 4th recruiter that I’ve spoken to. Does this practice annoy you guys just as much as it does us? My dream career is to be a technical recruiter but this whole thing is discouraging.

Hello all. I have applied for almost 600 jobs over LinkedIn since we shifted to Dubai in January 2022, I received a call back only from 1 employer, I went through the interview process with them but the result was rejection. It's been 8 months since the move but there is no luck in finding a job here in the HR domain. Can someone help me with understanding the market in the UAE related to the HR domain?

Last year when Covid broke, I received a couple of interview calls but ignored them as I felt the organization kept me at work when other companies cut short their HR staff so I should be with them even if with no appraisal. But now, I was living in the fool's paradise when I am told to leave with no job offers in hand, car and home loan, dependent parents, expecting jobless spouse with a 3-year old kid.

I read on another thread that someone got rejected by HBS without interview and was then accepted to GSB in the same round. Does anyone else have some success stories like this to share with us HBS rejects?

Hello all,

I am in discussion with HP bangalore team for a RPA Developer position.

Total IT Experience : 6.2 years
Relevant Experience : 4 years

What would be the salary range for 6+ years ?

I am expecting salary from 17 to 18 LPA. Is it within their standard range ?

My final round with Deloitte for UK Tech Consulting Manager position soon. Strangely it’s not a PMD round as it usually is for other Big4/tech consulting firms.
1. Can anyone tell me if they’ve been through the whole process without speaking to PMD? (First round Sr Manager, second Case Interview by a manager and third again by a manager) 2. What is a typical salary to expect? I was asked in screening but kept it vague (e.g can discuss later bla bla). I was hoping 75-80 (ridiculous?)

I'm the hiring mgr for designers in my org. I recently discovered pay band information given to me by the HR generalist I'm working with on hiring was outdated and updated bands had been released over the summer (prior to my hire date). The outdated information had led me to believe a prime candidate was out of range. Aside from incompetence, can anyone think of a reason why HR might have withheld information about the pay bands? I assume mgrs see the full monty when it comes to pay...right?
