@OP wow you are just 28 and already a manager !!! Give me tips!
People really don't notice what people wear as long as it's not "loud" and as long as it's not frumpy. Keep it neat. I love corporette.com or extrapetite.com for inspiration. I like washable items and neutrals. A bright belt can take something from winter to spring. Also don't redo your wardrobe all at once. A couple new pieces a few times a year help with avoiding clothing burnout. Also purging your closet to get rid of the clutter helps so you know what you like and what looks flattering.
I'm 35/M and still a senior consultant. I'm really behind. I know this post isn't about age and title or success but don't worry too much about the outlook. As long as you look clean, nice shoes and smart which you are people will respect you.
Pictures might help😀
Look up capsule wardrobes. Build capsules for use case scenarios - work, casual, working out, etc.)
I read an article about this and am interested in trying it - basically finding a work "uniform" and sticking with it (I pretty much do this now). Buy multiple pairs of black and navy pants and blazers, and blouses in white, blue or other neutral colors. Wear a variation of the same thing every day. As long as everything goes together it makes it much easier and faster to get dressed in the morning.
Big department stores sometimes have a personal shopper service, frequently free. Book an appointment and just go in with a firm resolve not to buy anything you don't like out of guilt for taking up the staff's time.
@Op: Rachel Ray had Stacy London from what not to wear in yesterday. She helped a woman decide what to wear and how to pair outfits.
You might want to see if you can watch the episode On Demand, or go to the Rachel Ray Show website and look for the video, "Stacy London on Planning Outfits for the Week: Think of it as Meal Prep." I know, the title may be lame but I think there will be some ideas for you.

Find your style. Cut out pics from mags. Figure out what they have in common. Wear what you like and try something new every now and again
Try to avoid patterns
I cleaned out my closet with Project 333 where you pick out 33 items and rotate every 3 months so you have something every season. It helps with being more intentional about your purchases and you end up with pieces you love / always wear based on your personal style rather than fast fashion / trends. As for where - I actually do a lot of thredup and secondhand shopping as I got into ethical consumerism and am trying to cut down on buying new things.
Check out the blog memorandum.com, she puts together great outfits.
