Hey guys. I have been applying to Amex for the past 1 year. Tried applying on the portal, through referrals and even hr consultants reached me regarding the roles since I have a relevant profile. But not once have I been shortlisted or called for an interview. What could be the problem?
PS: I have gotten calls from every other company for the same profile but not amex. Can't be a problem with the profile. Seems something dicey which I'm not aware of.American Express

Did you file for unemployment? That will give you a little extra until you find another job. It’s not as much as you would normally make but hopefully enough for rent and basic necessities… not much else you can do but keep trying to get an interview….
I agree with M1 about filing for unemployment. Three interviews in three weeks is actually pretty good, I would follow up with them after the interview and let them know about your interest. You could also go into restaurants and bars around you and ask if they are hiring, sometimes showing your face can improve your chances. That's how I landed my last job.
It's just not a great time to be looking for work. If you're not getting a lot of response you might want to rework your resume, or just adjust your entire approach. But it's also true that a lot of people are looking for work now and it's pretty uncommon not to be hearing back after you apply. The tariffs have organizations unsure of what their supplies and ingredients will cost in a few months, so it's difficult to plan. And in that atmosphere people are hesitant to do any hiring.
I understand. its just so frustrating, some of the places ive applied to post that they are now hiring and then when reaching out to them over the phone or in person they tell me they actually are not hiring. Anyways thank you for your words of advice.
I was out of work week before Easter this year. Easily sent out over 300 applications and got 6 or 7 interviews and just started working again few days ago. So 10 weeks for myself to land a job. I've never had that hard of a time finding one. I count myself lucky because 10 weeks seems short compared to alot of stuff I've seen from people. Years ago while working at a kfc we had corporate come in approx 4 430pm to inform us store shutting down 730pm. Still don't understand how places can do that. But as hard as it may seem, keep your head up!!
All you can do is Hang in there and be confident in yourself!
Hello: I work events as a prep cook. Many servers at reputable events come in thru this agency https://www.staffworkx.com/ Also, I would suggest downloading the Instawork app. Instawork does a lot of major sports and concert concessions, as well as restaurant fill-in temping. You could also download the WorkWhile and Blue crew as secondary apps These are all temping, concessions, etc. Lots of summer and fall events coming up. Best wishes
It is very difficult out there, and I am truly sorry. I know I've been looking for 5 months and been on 15+ interviews. That being said, have you ever considered doing rideshare? (Lyft, Uber etc.)
