99% sure the law in Illinois is that you must be paid for all accrued PTO upon resignation - can anyone help confirm? Cheap ass Accenture is trying to say no.

Only in California, dude. 240 hours is ACN policy in all 49 other states.

like

Sorry dude

Read Section E:

An employment contract or an employer's policy may require an employee to take vacation by a certain date or lose the vacation, provided that the employee is given a reasonable opportunity to take the vacation.  The employer must demonstrate that the employee had notice of the contract or policy provision.

like

Sorry A1 missed you before I posted that...I have about 290 and am resigning for a different firm....PeopleLink line said I won’t be paid, but LFHR said I should double check because she was pretty sure Illinois gets paid. Clearly the law states they must pay any and all hours earned.

like

OP why didn’t you just bench it for a month before you resigned, you know Julies ass ain’t shoot to give free money like that 💸

like

Bahaha. When I quit Accenture I was on PTO (submitted my time sheets) and turned in my laptop early. Double dipped AND got my 240 payout.

like

I’m from Illinois and I’ve always been paid out for unused PTO from all my other jobs

Wait, do you have more than 240? Or do you have less than 240 and they're still not paying?

You’ll get paid for the 240. The rest you’ll lose.

And I think California will stop accruing after 240 until you get it down to accrue again.

Sue them

Don’t be a dick over 50 hours

I got paid out, think 240 is max.

You can't even roll over more than 240

It’s not roll over - it was earned this year. And to p1 you’re an idiot if you think pursuing >4K hard earned dollars is being a dick.

D1 - that is related to the fact that you cannot roll over unlimited time year over year. It has nothing to do with being paid out in full. I have actually contacted a lawyer and confirmed my interpretation. Thank you for all of you input.

Smart! We can only roll 40 here..

Anyone hiring those who have been out of work for a year? I took time off to tend to personal matters, but I am now looking to get back into the workforce again. My previous experience includes time at B4 audit up to senior level and then transitioned to manager in industry. Senior/manager roles are preferred.

I don’t mind audit. However, I’d prefer it not to be at a B4, as I am looking for some semblance of a work life balance.

DM me if you have something above, thanks.

Hey folks, I'm getting an offer as a SC in EY UK. Presently I'm a manager with EY India (up for SM next yr Oct 2021). Comp is 55k range (haven't officially received the figure, a few more days it's expected, doing some homework before that).

I'll be moving with family. Wife may not immediately start working (,find a new job, we have a toddler daughter as well 2 YO).

I personally don't find this offer commercially attractive. Can someone offer some counter arguments?
