A couple days ago was emailed by my SM who cc: another SM and our MD on the account. They were thanking me for all the hard work I’ve been doing. Our MD said it was great to see a new team member playing such an important role. I replied bla bla. They then talked about how they world set up time to talk about my future on the project. For context I’m a campus hire 3months in on a tech implementation. I don’t see myself on this project long term doent align with my end goals. Should I express

You need to find another project if you don't want to get extended!

Tech implementation projects are never ending. Almost everyone wants to jump ship even if they go and do another Tech project. The leadership is usually very adept at giving you excuses to keep you. The conversation is probably to either bulk up your role or making sure you are given a role you like. I will suggest that you tell them what you are looking to do and learn about and ask for their advice on how to make that happen. It usually shifts the convo from the project to your aspirations.

Having SMS and PMDs are everything, something to which I underestimated. Forward those notes to your coach so they have that as ammo for year end

like

This in our meeting, I plan on talking to my coach about this too. I don’t want to be stuck on this project but also don’t want this to be awkward or backfire on me in any way.

funny

I think that depends on your coach.

You could try and position as I’d like to continue in this role but are there other work streams I could get involved with on the account? Depending on your workload, you could try and see if there’s work that more aligns with your end goal.

like

The play here is to either ask for a new workstream or go to a new project the PMD has sold. Unfortunately, you’re supposed to be on long term implementations — that’s how Deloitte works

like

Keep them until your review then get the promo then leave

That’s what I’ve been thinking

Why do you want off?

They may be happy to help you see what arc your career could take. Its not expected that you stay in the same position, but it may be longer than you think to move.

Depends on what the Op wants to do, if it were myself I would find my way out of implementations ASAP or you will be doing it rest of your career. I had buddies who have done implementation for years on end and always asked for more strategic projects. Myself, I have never been on one more than two months at a time and never implementation…

What team are you in? I think make it clear that you are learning a lot but this is not where you want to head

Some recruiter in Accenture lined me up for an interview for a role which was not in my skillset ( by saying that this is just an evaluation exercise and they will map me to the right role) and obviously I got rejected. Now I see that I am not eligible to apply the role which I was targeting for the next 6 months. Any idea how can I get this escalated so that the recruiter ( Accenture employee) should at least be careful in future before fooling a noob like me?

How does contract to hire work? If I’m offered $37/hr on w2 for 3 months and then possibly a permanent position, how much can I expect to get annually as a full time company employee as a BI data analyst II? I have a M.S. and certificates in DA but this will be my first job as DA.
I prefer working for what is offered on contract without negotiating, and then negotiate when I transition into the company itself so I have a better chance of getting the contract position and show my skills.

My firm’s IT (especially system saving and file locating function) is so bad 😐😞 and they keep doing updates no one asked them for just to mess with the stuff we already got a hang of without doing anything about the issues we actually need fixed. Anyone else in a similar boat? Do you bill the client for the time it takes to fix the IT issue (or IT inefficiency generally, like time taken to find a file in a convoluted system)? Or is that supposed to be our non-billable time?

Covid has been hard. March 2029- December 2020 I drank a lot to cope without realizing it. January- March I didn't realize I was depressed. March I came to terms with increase and ongoing suicidal ideation and needed help.

I went into a intensive outpatient program (IOP) which has been super helpful.

During the beginning of covid I drank every day and in a great deal. January it was a "dry" month which was hard the first week but overall great.

March 2021 realized I'm clinically depressed.
