A friend of mine received an offer from HSBC (entry level) but they delayed the start date indefinitely due to HR and manager being on holiday. It’s been 3 months now since he was supposed to start, and now they are ghosting him.

Is there anything he can do? He lost on other offers, and his financial situation is not looking too great.

I’m in-house at a small company (60 people), started right out of law school about 5 years ago. We had a legal team of 5 then. Everyone has left and we just hired a new GC. I went from $70k to $100k a little over a year ago. I am expecting an offer from a firm doing business law work but think this might be an opportunity to go to my current employer and ask for a significant raise, with new offer in hand. Received an offer for non- tech CCM role and wondering if I should accept. I feel like I was lowballed and downleved despite having 6 YOE (relevant but not in tech). Not sure it will be beneficial to leave my current role for this offer to get my foot in the door.
